A quick Google search would reveal what ICE is not dead and has at least another 30 years as the primary from of automotive propulsion. If it’s going to be around for more than 30 years, why is it wrong to strive to make it as efficient as possible?

Stop this visibility nonsense. This is such an outdated notion about safe driving... about the same as the notion that speed kills. With proper mirror size/design along with radar (blind spot monitoring systems) there is little need to turn one’s head to look.
No. The electric assist is to smooth transition from normal spark ignition and spark assisted compression ignition.
We need to stop worshiping/following celebrities. Period.
This guy gets to post while I’m grayed out after 10+ years? The “new” Jalop staff are a bunch of hipster snowflakes.
That’s it. We need a Maximum Overdrive remake.
I am not even sure why I still watch this show. #smh
Right? Dr. Panoz himself is an accomplished man, but for all the financial success he’s had, it blows my mind that he never hired an automotive designer who actually could help them put out cars that didn’t look it was penned by a schoolboy.
Mazda6 Signature. CX-5 Signature w/2.5T (2019). Or, the next gen Mazda3 with Skyactiv-X (to be unveiled this month at LAAS).
I doubt it. The pick up truck bits (previous generation) have been available in kit form from Jeep for sometime. SUVs and trucks are selling while passenger cars are not and FCA isn’t blind to this; neither is the majority of the auto industry.
Reality check #1: Majority (if not all) of the problems are attributed to the cars produced when Ford had majority stake in Mazda, and when Mazda had to use Ford’s platforms and components.
Less cringey than the “real people” Chevy ads. Honestly, any ad targeting young women are more often than not cringey.
And more significantly, that 310 ft-lb of torque is available at just 2,000 RPM. Diesel-like, yes! The uninformed masses thinks it’s horsepower that makes a car more lively and drivable. The truth is torque is what makes an engine responsive and much more relevant in daily driving. Horsepower is more important at the…
They don’t tune their cars to be sports cars or red light scorchers. It should be obvious. They are tuned for optimal real world daily driving; i.e. being responsive (torque!). The 2.5L turbo has 310 ft-lbs available at a mere 2k RPM.
No.
You are talking about the Ford-Mazda cars. The cars they produce since Ford are an entirely different breed. Google recently released Consumer Reports’ reliability ranking. Mazda is number 3 behind Lexus and Toyota.
2019 CX-5 will add a trim with the 2.5T.
Hipster blogger, too hip for history.
They got a little lucky. But, that’s racing.
They are committed to IMSA, for now. The move away from MRTI is to free up resources to better focus on the IMSA program. Besides, Indy has almost zero to do with the activities of Mazda corporate. It was a legacy program and made little sense to begin with considering their presence at Indy: zero.
