And this is precisely why there will probably never be another Mazdaspeed as the brand seeks to move up-market (and greater profit margins). The people they want to go after, the folks with good credit and buying power, are not boy racers.

However you want to spin it. Cadillac sees itself as a luxury brand. Even as a near-lux, it still isn’t in the “average” car category, thus the above-average cost. And, that, IS reality.

Whether you agree with it or not (subjective) Cadillac is positioned as a luxury brand within the GM family of brands (fact).

Less expensive in base trim. In higher trim the XC40 is pretty damn expensive.

At this price point, why would any one expect otherwise?? It’s a given. Even the smaller Jeeps are front biased.

That is just poor planning/design/implementation. Normally would at least have a triangular band of guard rail to divert vehicles to either side of the divider.
