What else? Something having the name “Continental” and not based on the Fusion. That’s what else.

Exactly. When I saw the concept I was relieved for the brand. And I thought, finally, something worthy of the brand’s name and history. When I saw the production car in person, a town car at a sandwich shop (the driver was chatting up other town car drivers while on break), I had to do a double take. It looked no

The Continental, as it exists, is too small and too restrained to be a flagship. Visually it’s no bigger than the lower rung MKZ and the styling (while nice) is so restrained that it blends right into traffic. It lacks the physical presences that a Bentley or Maybach has. The sun that hasn’t won a championship in how many years?

Maybe the actual cause is the Ford badge.

Yup. AWD and quicker shifting auto is the difference here. The KIA may be geared lower too.

Isn’t the Stinger AWD? So, sadly, no.

As a former VW owner, agree with you for the most part. Sampled a TDI Golf a couple of years ago, despite the cheat it was quite nice. Not long before that, did ride in a base Jetta... it was crap. My point? take the base trim of just about anything and you are guaranteed to have an uninspiring experience.

Someone please make this into a GIF meme with the 240 saying, “Nope. Nope. Nope. Not gonna go with you.”

I think they should just make it “BUCK”. Their cars are big in China right? what sounds more American than “BUCK”?

*whisper “It’s just a rebadged GM.”
