Like when William Holden was laughed off the set when he was required to put on a Roman Toga?

They did try something like this some years back with Bebe Neuwirth. It only lasted 1/2 a season. Jerry Orbach died in the middle of it.

I thought Lowell was the best as she seemed the most intelligent and mature. Harmon was the worst as she seemed so phony. Rohm get a weird and pointless sendoff without context. Didn’t know about the Parisse character. I must have missed a few of those episodes. Hennessey seemed sincere but over her head. De La Garza

Saw this in a Gold Coast (Brisbane) theater last year. As a Yank living in Melbourne, I still needed some sub titles for the Pub scenes. The film in this genre that the locals still obsess about is “Wake in Fright” which was made in 1970 or so. It is to Ozzies what “Deliverance” is to Southerners and “Death Wish” is

25 years before the MASH final episode, Route 66 had a definitive final episode with one major character married to Barbara Eden and the other headed off to Texas to go back to his life. No more crossing back and forth across the country in a cool Corvette.

Actually this genre originated with “The Friends of Eddie Coyle”. This was an early 70's crime film starring Robert Mitchum. Watching it you will surprised how similar this excellent film is to CotH. (The only difference being RM recycles his Irish accent from Ryan’s Daughter instead of attempting a Boston one.)

Buzzy wants the job the most. Folks like that often do a good job and overachieve.

Look for old recordings of the Tom Jones Show.

This film has its own cult on Facebook. It is very watchable time and again. It also helps that it doesn’t have a B Movie vibe. Very much “A level” acting and production values all around.

Excellent Analysis. Saw 123 when it first came out and have loved it ever since. Music is appropriate and great at the same time.

Film does illustrate Frankenheimer’s mastery over machines and suspense (The Train, Grand Prix, Ronan). It is a shame they cut his budget at the final destruction of the blimp though. That would have elevated the film’s semi classic status. Also a poorly executed scene where a silencer is placed on a revolver where it

The Chase” with Brando and Redford?

I remember him saying at the time that he wanted to host the show after Alex. He seems up for it and well suited to the task (figuratively and literally).

You mean vintage John D. Macdonald? This cover looks like it was done by the came artist who drew the original Travis McGees.

One season of Dr. Foster was good enough and plenty enough. Can only take so much of those people. Dynamic actress though.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way.

Can’t believe that the Queen with her enormous staff, wouldn’t have known all about the parade ahead of time. Apparently, in real life, Thatcher held it when the Queen was in Australia so she wouldn’t be competing with her on the dais for recognition/credit etc. This was really the lamest part of the episode.

Strongly agree. My favorite SYFY film of them all in that it is relatable and doesn’t require belief in silly things. BTW It is very well produced and presented.

True, but it is a very rough experience to sit through.

Strongly agree! It is also the best syfy movie ever IMHO.
