I think you’ve nailed one of the issues with this adaptation. Spike is the younger — but still experienced— gunslinger teamed up with Jet’s seasoned old hand. Spike dresses as a futuristic Bebop hipster, young cultural rebels of their era. Spike is like Steve McQueen in the ‘60s: someone who looks young, cool,

I think honestly, best case scenario for any animation-to-live action adaptation is that you get 2/3rds of what made the original good. Because live-action is just fundamentally at a loss to translate what works in animation without losing a whole lot of magic. I’m not surprised the show feels almost good, and is not

The whole reason they aged Spike up was because they thought it was too silly to have a world weary 27-year-old. But that was the point with Spike, that he’d been through so much violence and hell through his short life.

Oh I absolutely expect the show to present Michael with a real no-win situation at the end of the season and she somehow wins and the lesson is for Michael Burnham there is no such thing as a no-win scenario because she's that good and techno babble and the big meany president was wrong all along.

“Comes up smelling like roses” is not how I’d describe it. The episode is pretty firmly in Rillak’s corner in this debate, for one thing; and it seemed to me that the Disco bridge crew was as well

In the future the superhero males will wear the skirt.

“wow this Ram truck ad is going on forever”

Kudos for not making this a slideshow. I was totally expecting it to be and opened the link in a new window for resizing. You got me, and I’m happy for it.

If that person’s name is Wesley, all the better!

“I can’t wait to see a battle of wits.”

Yes, exactly. WandaVision ended in typicall Marvel CGI sky-beam fashion, and people were annoyed at the lack of it opening up doors to bigger comic book realms and instead opting for a classic movie style battle.

Thank you! People don’t know wtf they want. If it’s a big honking magical laser battle it’s bad, if it’s a philosophical/psychological discussion over consequences and ethics it’s bad or boring. Can’t win with some people. IMHO that final resolution of this show where they were just talking, was great and a hint of

This is why we can’t have nice things.

Yup. That entire “final battle” was psychological. Loki and Slyvie were at each others throats, and at any moment it felt like one may kill the other.

In some ways, Space Jam fans were dreading this since the moment the first trailer essentially turned “cartoons play sci-fi basketball” into “what if Ready Player One had exclusive access to the Warner Bros. back catalogue?

Okay my thoughts after watching these videos and rewatching the “Buddy Holly” music video

They could impeach him daily and there’d still be zero consequences.

A swamp is a healthy biome rich in plant and animal life.

Who? Never Herb of him. I mean HEARD.

Oh buuuuuuurn!!!
