10/10 would watch a Dukat series where he was bullied for his love of gormunganders or some shit.

I think the problem here is you have just described how to make a top shelf ST series, and not really a movie. You, me, other lifelong Trek fans would jump on this premise as a series or a movie. However, casual fans like my wife give zero shits about the moral dillemas and philisophical ponderings at the heart of

Obligatory

I would agree had they adressed the stranding of the people they stole the warp coil from or literally had to face any reprecussions from the bad things they did during the Xindi arc. It was basically space Nazis, then heroes welcome. No ruminating over the wrongness of the actions they took in service of getting to

Agreed! It always feels odd rewatching DS9 and to a lesser extent TNG. They’re always talking about the exploration and science bits, then are surprised when the massively armed “exploration” vessels had to go to war. The push and pull between Reed and the MACO units, while at times hamfisted, was interesting as hell.

I actually love the 3 episode mini season format the adopt in season 4. It gives you deeper plots without being too big for the show. The augment arc was a little out there, but at least it was short. I loved seeing the founding of the Federation stuff.

I believe the first season of Stargate was on Starz or Cinemax, and not Sci Fi, hence the R rated scenes. Edit: it was on Showtime.

I just finished a full rewatch of Enterprise and I had two thoughts:

The DVD set has an unrated version which has a surprisingly lot of nudity for a Sci Fi Channel show. Why even film it if it’s on broadcast TV?

I actually like Alec Newman in the back half of the mini series. He does not sell the Paul Atreides role, but he nails Muad’dib. Matt Keeslar was one of the two big names they sold this mini series on. You were watching for William Hurt and the guy from Scream 3. (hey, those movies were big at the time...) What we

Hey hey, Apocalypse isn’t THE worst. Dark Phoenix and Last Stand were still lower in the shit pile than that one. At least Jennifer Lawrence hadn’t phoned the entire thing in by Apocalypse, just some of it.

I’m still working my way through Clone Wars, so if you guys could please turn off the god forsaken auto play on this video, at least while it’s being advertised in other unrelated articles, that would be greaaaaat.

I just assumed she used parts from her staff to make it. That would be in line with a scavenger.

Yeah life long Trek fan here (one of the first books I ever read was the novelization of The Motion Picture...yeah...) and I have to disagree. I think the initial season was shaky, but the second was much improved, and the promise of the 3rd season concept makes it worth investing in it. They got a lot better with

Damn it! One of my favorite things to do in the office was to keep the storm going as long as possible. Pretend you have no idea what’s going on, reply all periodically to early emails in the chain until IT emails you personally to stop, then convince your neighbor to start doing the same. Kept one going the whole day

I recently watched the prequels and youre right they were far more visually interesting that the sequel trilogy. The thing that really stood out though was that the prequels did a hell of a lot of dense world building. It didn’t always make sense or land the way Lucas wanted it to, but it added much more to the SW

This is a fancy way to say the glass is not half empty, it’s designed to the wrong specifications.

Oh, that’s much better. I mean, it’s Denis Villeneuve making Dune so I was in as soon as those two things ended up in the same sentence.
