Just for the heck of it I decided to check out what ye olde wikipedia had to say. Talk about a term on which there seems to be little agreement.

Damn. In that case, if I only had the power to name a vacuum cleaner model it would fly off the shelves.
Chevy Citation.
You so beat me to it... When I think of what an escort should do, that car did none of them.
Umm I seem to remember the e30 325e was actually a 2.7 and some iteration of the e36 318 was actually a 1.9 so the last two digits haven't necessarily "told the truth" for a while
Didn't coupe traditionally refer to something with no B-pillar as we know it today, just having what we would refer to as the A and C?
Zero complaints here. I loved my Aerostar. A simple set of snow tires and it was a beast in winter. I don't consider it an unkind comparison in the least.
That era of Benzs certainly have a look that later models lack. I don't know if the exact word I'm looking for is stateliness but I can't come up with anything more apt at the moment.
Interesting. Restoring a Merc from that era has to be tough. Where does he find rubberized horses so he can re-stuff the seats?
Don't be ridiculous. Issac Newton totally wouldn't have invented physics if he hadn't been sitting on his ass when that apple fell on his head (which totally happened). Yep it was totally the apple. All that calculus didn't have to be developed and formalized it just materialized out of thin air. By which token…
I laughed... a lot. But it did remind me of something kind of weird. Years ago, while in college I worked in the school library. I would always read all the car mags before they made it onto the magazine rack. Nice job perk. However, I was once criticized by another employee for looking at "borderline porn" while on…
Embarrassingly, I told stories similar to that when I was younger. Along the lines of "if I'd have had 10 less horsepower, not installed the big brake kit, etc. I never would have avoided X" as if it were some sort of justification of modifying a car for hooning. I think that's why I got such a kick out of it.
Ha typical gearhead logic in that article. But, yeah some of the in-jokes here go over my head. Clearly too new.
No. You forgot to suggest that operating a slushbox is not only dangerous but calls the operator's sexuality into question.
Brakes. Hands down. Very early brakes were often a lever that pushed a pad against the surface of the wheel and later tire, granted we are talking some of the first self propelled vehicles in the late 1800s but still. Yikes.
You won't tolerate any argument? How about if I respectably disagree? As a full time "computer guy" (read: I make my living at it) and a part time gearhead (it's fun and a great hobby that brings me joy) I just don't see what you are talking about.
ICE/RWD and E/FWD would make a good bit of sense from a regenerative braking standpoint since most of the braking is done by the front wheels anyhow.
Thanks, wasn't sure anyone would catch it.
Beat me to it.
If you owe somebody a ten second car, you might want to start saving for one of these. But turbo or not, this salvage Supra is ridiculous for almost 50K.
