Yeah, bimonthly is confusing because it is used to mean both "twice a month" AND "every other month." Also not accurate for a weekly show because there are 4.3 weeks in the average month.

I don't believe it could have been changed. There is no point at all to books two and three (movies 2-4) if they changed the ending.

Read the text, it is a model of concision. Colbert's a genius but also a crack professional and there is NO way that he left this tribute to his friend and mentor up to whatever he thought of in the moment.

Jon Stewart didn't know that it was coming, but calling Colbert's bit 'unscripted' is ridiculous. It was beautifully written and perfectly delivered.

He had a reputation for being difficult, might have been substance abuse issues.

And at places that have confidentiality agreements with their employees. Horny but not stupid.
