And where were the former cult members that witnessed how bad things truly were? A quick Google search can turn up a number interviews with these people and yet not one dissenting voice from a former…

Thanks for the link! I enjoyed the doc but it felt almost like a Disney-fied take on the cult compared to what’s talked about in the New Republic/Oregonian articles.

Here’s what I don’t get, Bhagwan initially left India in part because the government was after him for tax evasion and various other crimes and yet he was some able to return to India and pick up where he left off without the government coming after him. What gives?

I had the same takeaway. While I enjoyed the doc there were a number of times that it failed to address some fundamental questions about the cult while only briefly touching other subjects that deserved to be explored more.
