I was so happy to see the back of the entire Brody clan. The show (with the exception of the first season) has been better without that weird relationship between Brody and Carrie hanging over it.

I know some people are saying it was clunky, but in retrospect, it was a nice opening-up moment from Jesus to show the growing bond he has with Maggie.

"The thing is, there does indeed need to be some burning for that to work"

I think it's a combination of general fanwankery and the fact his character is quite ambiguous/undeveloped in regards to his sexuality.

Which, if true, is a mighty shame that a better casting choice was overlooked for the nebulous and fleeting star power of JDM.

And when you think about to season two of TWD…maybe we only have ourselves to blame.

I'm sorry that gay people merely existing upsets you so much.

As with any under-represented minority, it matters. This show is as much about human relationships as it is about surviving the zombies.

…and Negan's vision is actually The Gay Agenda™

In a perverse way, I hope they do redeem her. It'll be very boring - and typical TWD - for Rosita to have given that bit of background about herself to Sasha this episode, only for her to die by the end of the season.

She's a good actress but Sasha is a pretty weakly-written character; I'm sure she can't wait to be on Star Trek where she'll have a lot more to do as the lead.

I guess the quick handling was to avoid making a big deal of it, which (as a gay man) I kind of appreciated. Jesus' sexuality ought to be treated as an everyday fact rather than a Very Special Thing.

It's not really that bizarre when you think about it. It's common for occupations to run in families - not just from the medicine perspective.

One of your best summations, yet. Your comments about Jesus' characterisation (or lack thereof) are spot on. The intro of Sasha shading Jesus' map was laughable - as was the map itself. The previous talk about how Jesus had memorised the layout of Negan's base made it sound like it was some incredibly complex setup;

That makes the percentage even smaller…

Really? Out of ALL the characters currently on the show, you reckon there's a large percentage?

I actually didn't hate this episode as much as I thought I would,
bearing in mind it was an Eli-centric one, but the stupidity of the plot
and characters was another thing entirely.

And for an extra layer of redundancy, why didn't Eli's sniper foot soldier actually shoot Vargas if he was going to take the blame for it anyway? There was no need for Eli to get his literal hands dirty, beyond (as ZacH's reply points out) to make us "feel bad" for Eli and show his supposed inner conflict about

Maybe save up season 13 for a binge watch - get it over and done with quickly, like ripping off a plaster.

re: your comment about the outlandish surgery, I'm sure a commentor on here in a previous Grey's review said that these operations are actually based on real cutting edge surgeries, so are fairly realistic.
