I think William is fine - I've seen a number of people complain about him, but I think he holds his own. The cast has some very strong talent in it though, so maybe that's why people are picking up on him.

Wait, what?

That's still a helluva lot of violence and an abrupt gear change for a character who's thus far been shown as compassionate and kind rather than an aggressive and morally-questionable hedonist, like Logan is.

Interesting and a valid counterpoint. Killing a defenseless "child" is arguably a terrible crime, but massacring and dismembering a dozen or more "men" is horrific, too. Very fine hair splitting, indeed.

Exactly, it was explicitly touched upon that the Wyatt back-story was added to Teddy by Ford.

"Most folks suspected it to be Theresa's, but that was debunked as Ford didn't hide her death"

I'm not sure how anyone could have missed this fact (unless you're half-watching this while doing something else) particularly since Dolores pointedly looked and felt her stomach where the wound had just been.

I take your point, but they may fade out the (frequent) usage as the show goes on. It serves a purpose this season but they may find a way to move beyond it.

But if he's been there less than a decade and is already vaguely middle-aged, he's not going to look so different within that short-ish time window. I think you'd have more of a point if Berard had been there since shortly after Arnold actually died (i.e. around 30 years with no visible aging).

Well, realistically, how can you ever hope to make anything better than someone jumping a shark?

Yeah, I definitely feel my biggest gripe with TWD at the moment is the terrible formatting of these episodes. They really need to track multiple stories in every episode.

"Ford gave her this get-raped-every-night storyline as a punishment."

Showrunner - thank you, that was the term I was trying to remember!

Is it actually the writers, though? I mean in the sense that someone higher up should be storyboarding (is that the right term?) each episode to plan it out - like the producer/director or something?

Well, he's been hanging around the awesome and smart pair of Michonne and Carol for ages but that doesn't seem to have helped him.

Yeah, I like Tara, but I found her comedic dialogue and delivery a bit jarring, particularly as the rest of the cast was stony-faced throughout.

I'm a fan of Daryl's and gay, but I wouldn't say he's a sex symbol - unless you're into that bedraggled, questionable personal hygiene kinda guy.

Or at least scattered throughout 7-02 to 7-06.

They certainly have gone to the well one too many times, and the well wasn't that great a resource in the first place.

As much as I agree that this "dedicated episode to a couple of characters" format is fucking terrible and they need to entirely abandon it next season, in Tara's defence, she is part of the official main cast now.
