Less would definitely be more for AHS, I feel.

That would all be well and good if it wasn't for the fact that Shelby was CLEARLY the one with crutches at the end of the episode.

lol, no, I don't think so. Or if she is, it's WAY off.

Asher is defo expendable. His character is grating and in a cartoonish fashion. I reckon they're going for the comic-relief angle, but I just find myself rolling my eyes when he's on screen.

Perhaps they'll start getting close and that'll be who's under the sheet.

I've never been a fan of Oliver. He's a bit too insipid and his dating Connor in a serious fashion (rather than a one night stand) seemed unbelievable to me.

"I will never forgive those actor accents last night."

They need to jailbreak Lee otherwise that character is basically gone. I hope not, because it's unusual for AHS to actually use Angela Bassett from the off, so I hope they've not done a reverse arrangement this time: bring her in early and then push her to the sidelines/forget her.

I guess with Detox, it just gets to that point where the remaining queens are better than her.

It's all about Robert Carlyle and Lana Parrilla - these two make the show bearable. I wish they'd killed off Belle because her character is as dull as ditch water and Emilie de Ravin is a poor actress…or perhaps it's because she's the poor sod who has to act with Carlyle the most and he shows her up. Ugh, god, she's

"Shonda Rhimes has such a gift for creating strong female characters we
would follow right off a cliff—Olivia Pope, Annalise Keating—why does
brilliant cardiac surgeon Maggie have to be such a child-woman?"

"I mean I like the other characters but there something about the originals that is way more compelling."

It's fantastic to finally see Angela Bassett front and centre at last, but this episode was definitely a bit of a let down after last week's. Everything felt a little on the nose, by that I mean we often saw something which was simultaneously explained by a voice-over - it felt a little patronising.

I've just realised I had totally forgotten Nicole was on this episode. She literally did nothing.

100%. Terrible mirroring - unless it turns out that Lisa is lying, obviously.

I hope not :( But then I imagine it's probably not getting enough traffic for their standards.

"She's been feeling him out almost since she showed up"

"Seriously where is Lisa???"

I hadn't thought of that, it's an interesting take on it - you're probably right. Like the reviewer, I took it as being about Christina.

I disagree - I think the acting of the ensemble cast is really great.
