It wouldn’t surprise me. Take funding from the motorsports bucket to develop the engine to drop in the supercar when the supercar bucket funding runs out or whatever internal budget hot potato works.
Sounds like we are getting some kind of special limited edition super duper car in the near future with that leftover lump.
