Rambling wreck.

Same here. I was a junior in high school and I remember the shocked look on my father's face when I told him we HAD to watch "60 Minutes".

Shelby did many, many amazing things for the automotive world. Creating the "genre" of the American muscle car was not one of those things. Did he make it better? Absolutely.

No shit. And they said "an embarrassment for the city" at least 3 or 4 times. Settle down, WWL. There was a whopping 35 minutes of delay. I say job well done for getting the power back on so fast; if that happens in some other random part of the city, it likely takes a couple hours to repair.

Thanks for the assist, Doc!

In other, more interesting crash landing news, a pilot landed a 767 in Poland like a champ with NO LANDING GEAR.

Exactly. Besides, being tasteful doesn't do shit for those page hits, right Ray?

Exactly. Anytime you use the term "plantation overseer" and say that Stern thinks of players as "his boys instead of men" there is no doubt about the implication. If Gumble was truly just making a statement about Stern's power grab or his management style, there are MANY other ways to make that point. Gumble knows

I find it a bit disingenuous of all these IRL drivers to say, after the fact, that they knew it was unsafe to race at Las Vegas, or words to that effect. If they truly felt that way, why did each and every one climb into that car and then proceed to race at the very speeds they supposedly deemed unsafe?

What a bunch of fucking sycophantic sheep!!

Jeremy Stahl, All-Time Great Troll (and also Asshole)

I'll watch only because there isn't much else to choose from. But I absolutely cannot stand the manufactured rapport or the over-the-top laughter from Rutledge. That dude acts like everything he says or hears is the funniest thing ever.

America! Fuck yeah!

Stay classy, Deadspin!

+1

Ridiculous, right?! I could not believe that they shoehorned the Red Sox into this story. (Shit, who am I kidding? Of course I can believe it.)

It's only happens about every time the Stanley Cup involves a team from Canada.

So how would your story be different if, say, it was a pickup truck driver that had lost a load of hay, pulled over to the side, and got out to pick it up?

Really, Gawker? You had to put this in your "Best Videos of the Week" post?

I have to agree with you, EC. I know it's sometimes hard to just distances on a video, but those planes do look awfully close to the stands, especially considering how low they're flying. There's simply no time for reaction if something does go wrong.
