This isn’t just VW betting the farm on EVs. Part of the TDI settlement with the U.S. govt. was a requirement for VW to build a nationwide fast charging network (2,800 stations), to the tune of a $500M investment.  Pretty hefty down payment on their EV plans.

What about battery life and replacement cost??  (serious question, I don’t know)

The look like cabinet doors hanging there.

Now playing

Wait until Mahk gets ahold of this ugly beast.

Looks like my neighbors dad’s Buick.........or maybe a Malibu.

Everything I’ve read has been related to the Infotainment system.  The first release in the XC90 was buggy, but it seems to have been fixed now.  I keep getting them for rental cars and like the more and more every time I drive them.  On the short list for the next vehicle.

IF the dealer provides loaners for the considerable time it will be in the shop.........IF there is a dealer nearby..........IF said dealer will still be in business in 3 years.

Possibly?? I was working for a GM Tier 1 back when the Aztec was about to launch. Went to a meeting at the GM Tech Center in Warren, MI and saw what I thought was the ugliest, but most effective camo treatment I’d ever seen on a test mule. My host informed me that it was the final production version of the Aztec.

Seems rational.

True, but is the motivation saving the earth or saving money with better MPG?  They are NOT the same thing.

Beat me to it. 14k a year is far from “alright”.........and that number may not be correct since GM stopped reporting monthly sales and went to quarterly to hide how horrid some of these models sales are. The Bolt sold 11k units through September, right behind the soon to be dead VW Beetle and Cadillac XTS, CTS and

They said Genesis (Genesises? Genesi?) would only be sold in stand alone dealerships by now too, that hasn’t happened.

He had a lot of concussions, so it’s possible.

I love when people start bashing Danica. I hate NASCAR, so I had to look this up, but she had an average finish of around 24th place in her NASCAR career, so still better than almost half of the men in the field. Overhyped? Yes. Over publicized? Yes. Smart enough to set herself up for a nice retirement

Sponsor money isn’t going to get an unproven driver, male or female, on a top F1 team. Personal sponsor money (more and more often tied to family relations) can get an average driver on a lower-mid level team, but they have to prove their talent from there. Carmen Jorda isn’t getting a full time ride with Mercedes

Crappy welds are a proud Jeep tradition.  From the current frame welds to the door hinges that fell off 20 years ago......it’s a Jeep thing you wouldn’t understand.

Exactly. The parents have doomed this poor kid to a life time of being laughed at and receiving odd stares when trying to explain how her parents were stupid enough to intentionally name her Abcde. Now, her brother Fghij (Fug-eej) is another story......

Which is why they are doing this.  The grumpy old purists are dying off, just like Harley’s core customer base.  If you don’t bring in new, younger grumpy people you will have no sales.

Most contracts aren’t for 4-5 years and if they are, they have early out clauses that can be enacted by either party for specific reasons. That aside, we are talking specifically about labor here, not the contract for the company that swaps out the door mats each week. So no, by that logic any contract isn’t bad for

VAG as a whole shit the bed on this one.  Delayed intros on several models across all brands.
