The rise in wealth due to home owners who simply live in their houses really doesn’t seem like a drastic accumulation of wealth though. Those homeowners pay a mortgage and taxes that, without the benefit of the full SALT deduction, more or less equivocate rent. The only way to monotize the appreciation in house value

Republicans are making sure this doesn’t happen in an election year, that is all.

Only issue with this comment is that NY, NJ and CT all voted against the repeal. You don’t have to live in the same area as the big banks to take their money I suppose.

That 1.2 trillion number assumes that some of what was passed actually expires, because they had to fit it in the 10 year neutrality window.

Got it... so enormous income inequality is fine because poor people are better off than they were 60 years ago. There are many points in history where strong Unions and better social programs did not absolutely destroy the economy, including many modern societies in Europe (not just Germany). You are completely

Nice narrative... i have one for you. The owner class, in their quest for evermore profits engaged in a smear campaign to depict unions as bad actors for the working class (a campaign you’ve taken your talking points from).

Yes... better that money go to who it belongs... billionaire corporate executives and donations to the Republican Party

Not a hot take.. anyone who disagrees an awful person.

For some reason my reaction is that this going to lead to sign stealing becoming easier... resulting in lots of arguing and about sign stealing.

1) Dems got CHIP extended 10 years, along with other important social programs in exchange for military spending (i.e., without affirmatively screwing anyone over)

Look I do get it. Democrats had leverage in a government shutdown and didn’t pull the trigger. That’s one way of looking at it. The other way is that Republicans tried and failed to do the same thing (holding the government funding hostage) over and over again when Obama was president. There’s a larger political price

Not before you get Paul Krugman out of there safe and sound...

On the bright side it happened before the trade deadline... so Knicks can stop pretending they’re fighting for an 8 seed and just trade vets / play kids in what was a lost season anyway. On the downside, who knows what KP will be when he gets back.

At this point most Knicks fans I know are on the tank-wagon. Knicks need a new coach and as good a pick / as many pingpong balls as they can get. Bring on the destruction at the hands of Giannis. At least it will be entertaining.

Bargnani

Or Durant could just not complain about every single call that doesn’t go his way. There’s def a few bad refs out there, but for the most part players just effing complain WAY too much.

To be clear, what Dems are being criticized for is caving to giving Republicans an out on their terrible strategy to try to get Dems to vote against DACA by holding CHIP hostage. They allowed Republicans to release the hostage, and give kids healthcare and push the DACA debate to be a separate issue in 3 weeks.

It’s being said all over comments, but this is a very bad take.

wow... what mental gymnastics by you...

Reviewing basketball plays is just not the same as football / baseball where there’s a natural end to the play. What if he misses his shot, Bucks get the rebound, and then get fouled or something? Do you wait for that stopped ball and then review the play and say everything past Giannis stepping out of bounds doesn’t
