The Avalon is the car I always tell someone to buy when they ask “What should I buy?” If you are the type who doesn’t care about driving and just want to get to work and the store each day it is, quite literally, the perfect car.
I have found my people. No way the 90 Miata or 84 4Runner could be done but I do have a 92 SHO that could be done and a 85 Toyota mini that I daily that is ready as a 10 footer car.
For all the “ma 12A ain’t got naw torque” whiners, the 1.3 this thing came with ain’t ain’t exactly a Cummins. The 12A probably makes more torque at 2000 than the 1.3 does anywhere on the curve. Stop yer bitching.

Suzuki Samurais have the same affliction except it’s in the sheet metal corner of the rear fenders. As no Suzuki Samurai is still owned by its original owner, the answer is always the same, “I don’t know, it was there when I bought it.”
