Mostly dead reliable, but... skip the years that had the biodegradable wiring harness... generally, 1994-1996 I believe... early and late ones had more conventional harnesses. This goes for any W124 sedan/coupe/etc... the R129 was based on a widened W124.

The wiring harnesses that were problematic started in 1993 I believe... the basic chassis parts under the R129 are from the W124, and the 1986-1992 models were fine for harnesses... if anyone has more info please correct me!

NP.. This is a great price for this car, rare as it is. The bumper is a concern... what’s UNDER it? Has it had a bash, and just a new bumper cover, etc? Still, the 8-hole alloys are dime a dozen, so replace those nasty chrome ones, repaint the bumper, throw the MUCH better looking hardtop on it and drive the shit

It’s kinda cool! Bummer about the FWD.

Thank you, and accepted. Car guys should support each other, not air their own personal quirks upon each other.

Your screen name reflects your attitude. Perfect.

Too rich for so many electrical issues. And maintenance needs. And that hideous wing.

I am not shocked by this at all, frankly. They’re essentially hand assembling them because of so many production issues. Early adopters will suffer for sure.

This one is a bit too expensive for the miles... but it’s an unusual unicorn of a wagon with a manual, sport-package, and AWD... for a weekend “beater” or for someone that wants a “winter car” in the midwest to keep their nice cars nice... this isn’t bad.

Burn it with fire. Yuck.

So far no word from seller.

Same here. This is “why not” kind of money, at $1500. Here’s the real thing... it could be screamed around in for awhile with absolutely zero fucks for much of anything, and if something goes BOOM? Part the car out. The GTA specific body parts, wheels, steering wheel, and seats on this car probably exceed the

Holy crap this car is local to me. AND I used to LUUUUST after these. My first car was a Renault Alliance 1.7L 5-speed. I am seriously tempted to go snap this up just because... seriously.

I have to admit to a somewhat of an Jalop sin... I briefly had a Dodge Spirit ES Turbo with the 5-speed manual (only saving grace)... it handled, umm, boringly, but it was pretty fast for the time... with the 2.5 Turbo II. I managed to find the one and only picture of the car I have, so... might as well repent here.

I have ALWAYS loved these. And, maybe I am weird... but I would prefer the earlier cars with the much simpler engine.

That’s got to be 131K... it’s in great shape, but the scuzzy steering wheel betrays it.

I. Love. This. Car.
