They lived to be old happy grouchy little guys... and I had two Mini’s, they were their second favorite cars ever. My old 1993 Miata LE was the dog on the left’s (Tyler)favorite. He would sit on the passenger seat with his paws on the console and lift his head juuuuust high enough to get his ears flapping in the

W.O.W.

My old dachshunds LOVED the Mini Cooper. This was circa 2004, so old now... the dogs are both gone, and so... thankfully... is that Mini.

A buddy of mine had one of these in Seattle for many years... until it blew the transfer case while cruising down the freeway... resulting in all 4-wheels STOPPING at 75 mph... the resulting skid and accident wasn’t pretty.

Good deal. Thanks for the update. See you all there!

How many tickets have been sold / RSVP’d? Just curious! Thanks!

Booked, see y’all there. Looks like there’s a great Hotel Indigo nearby as well. Checked with mechanic and the W124 300E should be good to go!

OK, so I immediately called another Jalop bud, and we decided to make the trip all the way from WI / IL in my 1989 300E “survivor” if I can get the lumpy idle issue repaired. If not, we’re coming in my interesting but more plebeian E250 Bluetec. Weekend vacation in New Jersey? Something I’d NEVER have thought I’d

I feel bad for this guy, but he’s got to face reality: Though these are interesting cars to people like us, very few of them are actually collectible and most seem to be rusty in some way... I mean, storage on bare dirt in Michigan is not conducive to rust free cars. Few if any could be restored and actually be

THIS is how they will find the guy... good eyes!

Great article, and a special car.

You f*cking clearly have never driven this road man... that was an incredibly dangerous pass, and was beyond illegal. This road has ZERO runoff, no shoulders, and is so SO busy. I’ve driven up and over both directions at least 50x by now, and I have never seen someone be THIS stupid...

This. THIS is such a great thing. It makes me pine for my 1993 LE back now, ha. Original TIRES? They were stellar! I was heartbroken in the 90's when they went out of production! I was too young and poor (and apartment bound at the time) to buy a set to keep on hand... ugh!

This was me as a kid too... my Dad said my first word was Maserati

I miss cut-away drawings of cars. Non-Jalops seem to not care what’s actually going on underneath their wheeled computers.

Wholeheartedly agree.

Yes. From experience. I did the same with my NC variant as I did with my ND roadster. First thing was to replace the antenna with a shorty, and the second was to install a Voodoo shift knob.

Amen.

TOTALLY.

OK, for once an older Benz is NOT a crack-pipe. These are very hard to kill, the transmissions are bullet proof if serviced, and this car seems to have lived a fairly gentle life based on it’s physical condition. This car is NP for sure, and is fairly inexpensive on the C124 scale, partly because it’s the
