I will second the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix. I delivered pizza full time through college with a 2003 Pontiac Vibe from 53k-216k miles, then bought a 2007 Pontiac Vibe from 93k-210k miles, then found a 2005 Pontiac Vibe with only 102k miles that will last me for another 10 years or so.
