The doctor used a commercially available solvent. He didn’t invent it. Where his expertise really came into hand is what he did was protect her skin/scalp with addition of aloe, olive oil and other stuff.

The solvent probably isn’t much of a money maker. Most people don’t screw up using glue so badly that they need one. Plus for any small mistakes, common sense, soap, warm water, and scrubbing are going to be good enough.

She chose to keep on digging by refusing immediate medical treatment because she didn’t like how long it would take, grifted her “plight” for thousands of dollars, and is looking to sue the manufacturer for her stupidity.

I agree, I read all of your articles David because they are funny and interesting, but I’d be much more interested in reading about your work on and adventures with this than reading about another XJ.  Time for you to branch out of the Jeep family for your readers and can compare the efforts of working on the Toyota

What happens down there is three things:

I really wish they looked at how many clicks DT got from his wrenching articles and gave him a budget to do more of these things

Same here - native of the great, but cold and snowy and miserable half the year state of Maine. I have never even begun to get the appeal of AWD in a vehicle that is only used on normal roads. Costs more up front, costs more in gas, and heaven forbid any of it break. And I am going to have snow tires regardless,

I won’t lie, I had to look up the word tumescent. Remind me to never again do that on Google Images with the Safe Search off.

This is a seriously good point. If you’d let them walk, then followed up with them in a day or two, you might have gotten a sale. At least you’d have treated them like human (I know it was your SM and not you) and calling back would have showed you cared about the customer relationship regardless.

A David Tracy Lexus build would bring so many clicks to Jalopnik. Make your Jalopnik overlords pay for this, 5k should be nothing with all the ads they’re shoving in my face. Get it ready to be a million mile Lexus. Go driving across the country and write about all the different off road trails there are. Imagine it

In early 2009, the woman who is now my wife wanted a new Mustang, and liked the ‘08 Bullitt. After a bit of searching, we found a leftover new one listed at Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Spring, Texas. She called and confirmed they still had the car and it was available before we drove over there.

We drove up in my ‘99

I had something of the opposite experience ... my wife and I went to a Toyota dealer having emailed back and forth with a salesman and gotten a quote I liked. The only variable was my trade-in. The guy barely seemed to know who I was despite my printouts of our emails. He gave my keys to his used car guy while we

Lobbyists who dealers pay to secure government protectionism

“He then trotted out the sales manager who basically fed us the same lines, low-key berating us for wasting his time and wasting his sales guy’s time”

For the last 2 cars we’ve bought, we had financing already arranged. I had the loan through my bank and they were ready to wire a check wherever I told them.

My wife had a 1997 Civic HX that she was looking to trade for a 2002 VW Passat or other sedan type vehicle. We went to McKenna VW on Beach Blvd. in CA on a Tuesday evening to test drive a Passat that had the color and features she was looking for. As we sat down to talk turkey, they asked for the keys to her Civic so

Are they really that practical? For almost everyone, an SUV is a waste. Hatchbacks are much more practical for the vast majority of people.

I went I went in with the opposite situation. “I am ready to buy today if you can hit this price.”

Brings back unwanted memories. Back in 1998 I was buying a new T-Bird, trading in my ‘94. To say I was visibly excited about the car would be a serious understatement - loved my T-Birds. Anyhow, after the lengthy negotiations and eventual paper signing, I felt I got railroaded with added mystery charges, lowered value
