The two non-working gauges are likely the voltage regulator behind the cluster, a part from the 1930s. can be replaced cheaply with a transistor.

It was the definition of basic. Manual windows, locks, steering, brakes. It had a one speaker AM radio, I had to roll the window down to adjust the driver-side only rearview mirror, and I found out later that the reverse lights were listed as optional in the owners manual.
The early Mustangs were more of a sports car.
I never heard of the moron Salt Bae until I read about him at The Takeout. I have zero interest in eating a steak with added gold leaf. This is 100% total bullshit, similar to Trump’s gold-plated toilets.
It’s all relative to what was normal at the time. I’ve owned cars from Model Year 1964 to 2016, and what would be considered crap by modern standards was perfectly acceptable back in the day.
The very worst big chain pizza I’ve ever tried to eat, hands down, was Sbarro’s at some airport about 20 years ago. It was the embodiment of “tastes like cardboard”.
I’d go restomod

Raw tomatoes definitely don’t belong on sandwiches...If you ask for no mayo and they put the mayo on anyhow your sandwich is ruined.
“Health is not just another form of disease, and bald is not just another hair color.” - Responses to the false claim that “Atheism is just another form of religion”.
As far as I understand, in all modern cars the brake pedal is still mechanically operating a hydraulic system to engage the brakes, aside from ABS intervention(which is never going to disable the brakes)
If you put vertical glass at the back of the Civic hatch people would likely call it a wagon, not a hatch.
They basically want to be able to slip in one batch of 6MTs every 20 runs of “regular” Civics. So this one oddball run they want to get in and get out as quickly and painlessly as possible. And I would imagine they want to pick the quickest/highest volume paint colors to get the cars through the paint shop.
I’ve so far never owned a white car, because I associate it with boring “white goods” appliances.
I’m guessing some USA-based Marketing wanker decided that black, white, and gray were “safer” and more likely to be sold than if they also built some in that light blue color (which I would prefer), red, and...maybe even some other color(s) like yellow or green.
Canada gets more colors for the manual sport touring hatch

My Dad’s ‘64 LeMans had front-only seat belts; and IIRC my Mom’s ‘66 Olds Delta 88 had them front and back. I don’t remember if they were mandatory at those times, but I always wore them, and in all my own cars afterwards. As the article suggested, choosing to not wear seat belts is the predecessor to not getting the…
I’m not understanding how the driver would be required to remove their foot from the brake to stop the unintended acceleration event. Are they stating that the user needed to zero out all pedal input before the event would cease, or are they somehow claiming the brake pedal would be rendered non-functional by…
More importantly, when you fold down the rear seat in a Fit or HR-V, the butt cushion goes forward and down into the footwell, so the seat back is perfectly flat. This gives 39" clearance floor to roof which allows even a pretty big dog to sit up back there.
