It’s night and day difference compared to driving on a street. It’s like a roller coaster that you drive.

A fellow Corvette club member has a 2002 Z06. We chatted after I was done registering Car Show entrants two weeks ago. He is older than me – I’m 66 but he fought in Vietnam with the Marines so he is 70+. He spent unknown $Thousands to build up his LS-6 from the factory 405 HP to over 500 HP on the engine dyno. I

Why is this literally every single boomer conversation at most classic car shows?

Either shift quickly into 2nd after starting off or rev it up a bit higher. If it starts to force you into 4th, just wait for a second in neutral and it’ll let you shift into 2nd.

I get tired of the “hitler was a socialists or he was an atheist’

Unless the skipshift gets you and you shift from 1-4.

All the posters here shitting on the 1960s muscle- and pony-cars are missing the point. Of course they suck, compared to any modern car in any objective measure: Braking, handling, acceleration, rust resistance, emissions, safety, driveability, or reliability. If I had kept my ‘69 Firebird and restored it, of

...it’s still got a great (for the time) Bose sound system to enjoy inside...

I love my C5Z for its sensual, curvaceous body design, its 405 HP LS-6 and six speed stick, and all the “add lightness” stuff that differentiates the Z06 from lesser C5s – titanium exhaust, anyone? Yes, it has a head unit and other bits the same as an Impala – so what? That’s how you get world class performance

Spooning bacon grease over fried egg yolks was how my mom taught me to make fried eggs as a teenager – granted, this was 50+ years ago. No doubt she learned that from her mom. These days I rarely cook bacon, but rather fry an egg in butter for my usual “meat, cheese, and egg on an English muffin” brunch

A couple weeks ago my brother-in-law went with his daughter to go car shopping. She picked a 2021 Encore GX, trim level unknown. I had previously suggested they look at a Honda CR-V given her need to haul stuff as a sales rep, but she wanted a Buick because her dad owned two LeSabre grandpa sedans driven to

I got two shots of Moderna, and my wife got the one J&J. We will both gladly seek boosters (We are 66 and 65 Y.O.) if we can get more medical info. I really like being able to go grocery shopping now w/o a mask and I thought masks were all about “Don’t give someone else COVID if you are infected and non-symptomatic”.

More people seem to have no problem spending $60 on a 24 oz prime dry-aged ribeye at a steakhouse but would not pay $50 for that same steak at a butcher shop

I think with minimal effort it could go another ten years.

My first car was a ‘64 LeMans, 215 CI inline six and three on the tree, to have a car of my own to commute to Engineering School. Of course, I wished it was a 1964 GTO. I was fortunate to obtain a factory console and 3-speed floor shifter between my freshman and sophomore years, and I also found a genuine ‘64 GTO

If I could have found one (C30) with less than 70000 miles, no previous damage, a manual transmission, R-Design trim package, and T5 (I know, it’s a big list of demands), I would own one right now.

Sorry for over-reacting. I just could not fathom wearing a suit to a public high school. Everybody wore jeans when I was there. I do know that sons of the wealthy who went to private school were expected or required to dress like their fathers, so they would be ready to go on to earn Business degrees and go into

To all those who say a teenager will crash the first car of their own: I learned the hard way when I crashed my dad’s ‘64 Pontiac LeMans about two months after I got my license at age 16. It was repaired, but I paid for that stupidity by not being allowed to drive by myself until April of my Senior year in High

I told him to be truly non-conformist in High School he should wear a suit and drive a Buick...He still hasn’t worn jeans since he was 4.

Save the wolves (via the ESA), and cull the Republicans.
