So the DA is saying that the defendant wouldn’t accept anything other than a ticket. How about we not exaggerate the situation. The DA knew very well that in court the guilty verdict was 100+ years, probably offered 20+ years in the plea.

This guy shouldn’t have gotten anything more than traffic tickets and maybe a license suspension, which can be done just for being at fault in a fatal accident, even with no tickets.

This. The problem is the FIA has too much power over these race tracks and basically abuses them for their profits. 

It seems to be the case that this guy is at fault for negligence, and should be serving time and never driving a rig again, but that doesn’t meat the point about minimum sentences is invalid. They are bullshit.

His choices were a plea deal, or a ridiculous sentence; that’s not a choice any person should make.  It should have been between a plea and a reasonable sentence.

I dont blame the organizers for not refunding, if they want to keep a race there they probably couldnt afford to refund after having paid the fees.  The FIA should have done the refunds.  I was at the 2006 USGP tire debacle and I got my tickets refunded from Michelin plus free seats for the next year.
