It’s the first Netflix series from my country - and a mystery series, an incredibly rare beast here - so that’s already enough for me to binge it on release. Very curious how it will do with the viewers.

Yeah, I imagine there could’ve been a more graceful way to convey that. It doesn’t help that both lead actors, despite being real flesh-and-blood human beings, seem far more lifeless than the computer-animated aliens.

Hamfisted exposition.

One of the best observations on this is from Dave Chen and Joanna Robinson’s excellent podcast, Decoding Westworld, and it’s through the lens of a Hitchcock quote that I’m rather fond of.

An extremely spoilery observation will follow this quote, so consider yourself warned.

There’s a little black spot on my brain today. It’s the same old brain as yesterday.

I’ll disagree with that. Watching the Sparrow play Tommen like a harp, right down to how he took control of the room physically by sitting down on a mataphorical throne and then inviting Tommen to sit with him (but only after a few minutes of him awkwardly standing) was incredible.

You are not wrong, as far as I know. The controversy killed it in America. The final result was not the movie that they wanted to make. And even before its release, it was all but dead in terms of having any chance to make a sequel. I don’t know how well it did overseas, but if you look up the numbers, I’d be

I will stop experiencing massive levels of skepticism when I hear casting and read a general treatment of where they’re headed. I still have mild PTRD* from the first film that never happened because God doesn’t hate me enough to have let something that terrible exist

Hooray FINALLY more No Man’s Sky! Please be a good game. I am glad there are aliens, I was a little worried would feel empty but alien Civs would go long way towards alleviating that.

The difference being that Stephen Fy is a true intellectual.

I love QI, and I’ve watched about ten full seasons worth, possibly more.

“QI is the Best British Show Ever and America Needs to Leave It The Hell Alone.”

After the utter disappointment of the last 2 weeks I have to say that has got to be the best episode of Dr Who I have seen in a long, long time. Toby Whithouse clearly demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the best writers of the last few years with an episode with a thought-out cohesive plot, using nearly every

Where do you get violent? A lot of these people have impulses they were born with, they can’t control, that they know are wrong and that they hate, and they fight not to act on. We’re born with our sexual desires, we can’t control them. What we need is preventative therapy to make sure people can manage their desires,

I teach language arts with at risk youth in a detention facility. I use these writing prompt artworks from io9 from over the past year and a half as daily warm ups. They have the option of trying to write a short story about the artwork I put up on the screen, or their days and how they’re felling or that week’s

The life-cycle of the dragon was an interesting one. As a flying, fire-breathing reptile, they could live for centuries (or longer...).
