@GiR: Hey! Nobody choosed nothing! I didn't choose, did you choose?!

@Pope John Peeps II: Yeah, novels and film rely waaay too heavily on genre, and it causes opinions like this. It becomes too easy to pigeonhole styles and stereotype certain subject matter when you have genres, and this lets people blame the medium for the lack (or presence) of skill behind it.

@WookieLifeDay: The first book of Mistborn is basically a high fantasy Ocean's 11 for the most part. Try that one.

@JodaThongnopnua: YOU'LL HAVE THE STRENGTH OF TEN POLAR BEARS! SUPERSONIC H2AWESOME: FORTIFIED WITH BLACK HOLES! ANGRY BLACK HOLES! BLACK HOLES ON STEROIDS! TEN THOUSAND BLACK HOLES, EACH MADE OF EIGHT BILLION POLAR BEARS, PACKED INTO EVERY BOTTLE! EACH DROP OF H2AWESOME IS ENOUGH TO SEND FIVE SPACE SHIPS BACK TO

I like how whenever there's hate in the comments section, it's always apologetic. Like, "oh god I must be the only person who thinks this way and I'm definitely going to get flamed, but here's what I think" at the most extreme, and just sort of flinching opinions at the least extreme, or from a different perspective,

Awesome. Now we just need a headline that reads: "It's official: Edward Norton will be playing Bruce Banner" and I'll be set!

@crosis101: That would be Jean-Pierre Jeunet whom you should direct your Alien Resurrection ire. ;)

I've heard of a project that scans certain kinds of stars looking for evidence of Dyson Spheres, trying to find variants of those stars which are giving off less radiation than would be expected. Not sure how well fund that is, but it's a start. If there's a Type 1.1-to-1.9 civilization out there, that'd be the way

@corpore-metal: Considering only the many lifeforms that live in symbiosis with us and need us to survive, Humans disappearing suddenly would be directly catastrophic to a number of species. How bad that is for the ecosystem is the thing I'm wondering, and I don't know if there are any serious studies into that.

@corpore-metal: I wonder if anyone's ever done an environment impact study on the human contribution to the ecosystem. I get the feeling that we - simply by existing - serve a more important role in the biosphere than we realize.

@Tubgirl Cosplay: Yes, I suppose in the end my effort was wasted...but it was a fun experiment nonetheless!

@velvetwoodstock: I don't know, I found Be Kind Rewind to be fun and clever. Even the stuff that wasn't them sweding movies. Hell, the fact that Jack Black wasn't obnoxious is a breakthrough in directing actors.

It's not surprising at all that a producer of shit doesn't understand why DC would offer anything to a writer simply because they're talented.

@Tubgirl Cosplay: What's chilling is that I've been mercilessly bashing Frey in one thread on this article and defending him in this one, yet nobody's noticed yet.

@Tubgirl Cosplay: I don't remember lots of blank pages, but his use of sentence fragments was a competent example of how you'd want to do it if you intend to set a scene in that kind of mood. Technique-wise, his book is very useful.

@strattonbrown: Mmm...thinking about it....and for this story, yes. Yes, that's exactly what I'm tell you.
