@x40sw0n: YES! Six String Samurai was brilliant, I totally agree! Holy crap, I almost forgot about that movie...

@MrThunderfield: I recommend not checking it again. All you'll do is ruin it. Experience has shown me that the kid versions of ourselves have absolutely terrible taste.

@jonconnington: I remember Bruce Campbell recounting a similar story as well, back in 2002 when he visited RIT.

@a.seivewright: Am I the only one that feels a spiderman reboot is waay too early and just a little bit silly?

I remember reading about something like this in "Snowcrash", and it has hilarious potential.

Papa Smurf looks like a lawn gnome.

@Fierock: Because when bizarre, deformed and demented creatures visit Earth, they need a place where they can easily fit in.

@The_Geb: And after it worked for Mark Twain, that was the last time it ever worked, ever again. And yet.

@fraying: Yeah, you're being ridiculous, suggesting that this was in any way and ad. Honestly.

Why this and not The Fountainhead? Both are terrible stories, but at least something of value happens in the Fountainhead. Vaguely. At the very least, the cool architecture would give something for the art director to have fun with.

Cracked did an article a while ago that touched on some of these, as well as a few supposedly man-made ones. It's worth checking out:

@Wowzur: As someone with a shitty internet connection and living in an area where Comcast basically has an ISP monopoly, I completely disagree with everything you say.

@phoghat: You pompous ass. I'll tell you something about my knowledge of film history! Namely that it doesn't extend beyond things that are relevant to animation history. *cough* But I didn't see any mention of headphones in that article, so my point still stands.

See now this is what the Aeon Flux movie should have been like.

@phoghat: well, by "now we come to 3D" you mean the 50s, but yeah. The concept itself is not technically a fad. But it is an imperfect step forward. It'd be like if the first talkies required audiences to put on headphones. Until someone figured out a way to make a talkie that didn't require headphones, it would

@Gaudy Mouse Muad'Dib: Yeah, as someone who's only seen the 3D version, I feel like I may have missed half the movie. It's definitely more of a disadvantage than an advantage.

@Wolc Lupin: addendum to the 1 rule: do not watch any movie that requires you to wear glasses.
