No people will walk up, put their faces three inches from it, and stare for a few minutes trying to see the hidden unicorn.

You’re raising her right.

No, you aren’t.

I believe so, yes. And that’s 35 into a stationary object. I’m sure we all remember from physics that two cars doing 35mph colliding results in a crash equivalent to more than that depending trajectories.

Yeah, 10 years ago, no kids... sure why not take the air bag out of the steering wheel to do a cosmetic mod? Two hours later, oh... airbag light is flashing indicating it isn’t functioning after reassembly. No biggie, who needs those? I’m in my mid 20's and have a great handling car and good reflexes.

Now wife, three

Happens to the best of us :)

Fantastic post, thanks. I learned more about flying and plane ownership from your post than the article :)

Which is exactly what I said - someone not paying attention hits you.

There’s a very real group of people, many on this site, that basically think saftey is irrelevant if you’re an attentive driver, if you drive defensively, if you don’t go on the highway... you get the gist. I’ve had the argument many times and you’ll never convince them otherwise. I mean Torch drives his kid around in

I’ve never heard the term “club racers”, so I took the racer part literally since you introduced it and I never mentioned racing.  My apologies.

Anyway, if you’re not familiar with Z-car fandom/culture/history, it’s pretty significant. Lots and lots of gents who have owned Z cars dating back to the 70's. Lots and lots

Ah yes, locktite. Just the thing you need when OEM torque specification is not enough*.

You may want to have a talk with your dad before he finds himself dead in a ditch after being thrown from his vehicle. Unless he has some odd profession that sees him driving an old faux-luxery sedan/SUV for service work at slow speeds off public roads. Otherwise yeah, have a talk with him.

Are you being serious right now, or just being contrarian for the sake of it? This is a complete false equivalence. Driving and crossing the street are means to an end. Going to see an active volcano is an end. Doing a somewhat dangerous thing that billions of people do every day as part of daily life =/= doing a

I’m not talking about open wheel club racing, I’m talking about local car clubs, dudes hanging out and doing car things together. When I was heavily involved in them 8-10 years ago, a ton of the comraderie was due to everyone being able to wrench together, cruise around together, do track days together, road trip

I’m not sure if that would be wise though... it would be a pretty huge departure for the Z faithful, and you’d segregate the users for club-type events like cruises, track days, destination meets like Z-dayz in Fontana, NC as there is no charging infrastructure...

I think you need to cater to that enthusiast group for

Could be. 20's on trucks are probably more normal (I’ve never owned a truck and am clueless about them), whereas 20's or higher on cars/CUVs/SUVs are the exception.

Yes, gotta start with the oldest models with the most potential for profit in today’s automotive landscape. SUVs/CUVs first. IMO then the Z/GT-R; if any company ever needed a halo car(s), Nissan is it.

Really? Interesting. Maybe prices have normalized in the past 5 years or so now that models are getting bigger wheels stock.

I just know that in the early teens when I was more in the scene, guys moving from stock 18's on Z’s/G’s to 19's or 20's saw significant uptick in prices. And 20's on my CX-9, 19's on my ‘13 Mazd

Well, yeah... if you’re looking at cars in that price range, either you know how to wrench or you’re ready to have it towed to the junk yard the first time it doesn’t start.

The bigger question for me as a consumer would be, who the heck makes 23" or bigger tires and how ungodly expensive would they be to replace? 20's on SUVs are already pricey.

But then again, if you’re buying a car with wheels that big, tire prices probably aren’t a big deal to you. So as long as wheels this size don’t
