This is correct. I grew up driving in Michigan and just moved back. I can’t remember more than one person ever talking about snow tires in my entire life until I moved away at 23 and I haven’t heard anyone talk about them yet with the snow we just got. I’m sure people use them, but they sure as heck aren’t necessary.

To be honest, I still think the 3rd gen looks best.

I wholeheartedly agree. When I watch unbelievable cartoon science fiction, I too want the designs of the giant robot super battle suits that fly in space to be as realistically-designed as possible. GTFO with this “cool” stuff. And while we’re at it, no one has pink, blue, or green hair and giant eyes. Someone needs

The kit I have was made specifically for the 350Z (ST45 or something... 355mm 6pot front, 4 pot rear), so it wasn’t inappropriate parts. I was just daily driving it during the summer to work and the pads were not heated enough on a 10 minute drive to create a good surface mating with the rotor by the time I parked at

I’ve heard good things about those as well. I have a Stoptech BBK so like the brand. The rear 4 pots use Porsche OEM pads oddly enough, but I’m not sure what are on the front.  I do know that I had to swap to a more streetable pad after a year as the standard pads didn’t heat up enough on my short summer drives and

Yeah, I did try the HP+ after HPS didn’t cut it on my first track day years ago. HP+ held up better but since I still cooked my tiny stock brakes, I didn’t see the need to keep them on since that wasn’t my weak point any longer. Plus like you said they dusted like a mofo.

Hawk HPS are the best pads I’ve found for street use.  Have them on all of my vehicles.  Great bite, low dust/noise, decent wear.

Mid 2000's Nissan and Infiniti were KILLING it, especially in the modding scene. Zs, Gs, the R35, and heck even Altima SE-Rs were punching above their weight. Then Nissan just... stopped caring. I don’t know how the same company that made the Juke R lost it’s way so thoroughly.

No one is saying they “like” to wear helmets or seatbelts; that’s not the argument.

Regardless, read this:

Barrier of entry is similar. Buying a helmet is not an “installation”. You buy it once. And I’m not sure why you think you’d have to carry it around all day. All of the bike racks at my office have helmet hooks as well, and everyone just leaves the helmets there. If you’re parking around town in public places, just

What is your take on seatbelt laws?

in Rocket League, you can pool five items together to craft a random next tier item. So there’s at least a better chance there.

I had this conversation with my parents (mid 60's) recently, and they seemed taken aback by my bearishness on self-driving during my lifetime (I’m 33). I said mostly what you did, about the lawsuits around the“who’s life is more important” decisions the cars would inevitably have to make.

Bronze TE37's can make any Japanese car look good.

The little shop vac is pretty good so far too.  Forgot to add that to my long list :)

Nope, I’m taking them to the cleaners every month. I’m assuming they do those deals hoping people will forget.. but for savvy shoppers it’s very easy to come out way ahead. I almost feel bad at this point. I’m seriously running out of ideas of things to get for free and still have a couple of months left of free

I hope Sears keeps ticking; I’ve scored over $600 in free tools from them over the past year. Bought a grill for $400 last summer, got $400 in site cash split up over 12 months. I then combined that ~30 a month with other deals, promotions, and local pickup, including getting a $150 tool chest that added another ~10 a

I started with Jalopnik years ago, but often felt this was my second Kinja home. I didn’t always agree with the political slants, but the writing and investigative work was superb. It’s a darn shame things ended like this but I’ll be eagerly watching where the writers end up.  Godspeed Diana.

Recap: they were told to stick to spots (aka avoid political slant that new CEO didn’t like), editor in chief refused, got canned, huge backlash from reader community in comments, 8/10 staff writers left I believe as of this morning, now articles are getting posted by “Deadspin Staff” and freelancers and comments are

Diana’s post this morning is amazing. Car wreck > Deadpsin indeed.
