Expressing opinions is not elitist. Referring to opinions as facts and framing anyone who disagrees as inferior to you is. If you want to do the former, you could say “I like manual transmissions and it is a shame they don’t come with one.” You chose the latter, with a side of not-clever immaturity.

It’s an expression.

Do they come with a grown-up elitist transmission?

I’m on my second 6, and third Mazda. My opinions are strictly dated as I buy used, but my 2014 6 blew the doors off the Accord Sport of similar vintage I also test drove. WRXs are not nearly as livable or reliable and everyone on this site knows who buys those and why... so that’s a comparison made in bad faith. Q50s?

And fingerprints, water spots, bug splats, pollen, spiderwebs, bird crap, rock chips, paint swirls... it’s going to look dirty the second you’re done painting and then cleaning it. Regular black cars are bad enough to keep looking good. This one is literally only going to look good if it exists inside a vacuum sealed

I miss Saturday mornings, hanging out in PJs, watching Reboot, Recess, Digimon, X-men... but yeah, my Kids now just pick what they want from Sling and endure the one or two commercials (if any) per episode.

We’re so old now that our kids don’t even know what Saturday morning cartoons are.

I think the difference is that those cars require periodic maintenance. Not extra work every single time you drive. I’m all about wrenching and modifying and fixing stuff that breaks for the right car, but what the OP described is a bit more time consuming.

Then you haven’t heard one with a good setup. I don’t blame you though, most around nowdays are beaten to death and have ebay mufflers or straight deletes.

Good deal, I’ll have to find an Acura dealer to check one out in person :)

Interesting, TIL! I agree, both are beautiful.  I actually think I prefer the SR vs SRC from online photos now.  I like the brighter overall color, although SRC no doubt has more depth in the right light.

Reminds me of the Mazda Soul Red Crystal. Just picked up a used 2014 6 in that color. It’s gorgeous in the sun... almost seems to glow.

As a fellow Z33 owner, can concur those cars are dead simple to work on. It seem like 90% of maintenance jobs just require a 10mm socket.

I’d say an easier way to an enjoyable life is to drive something that isn’t a total PITA to own.

“That vehicle is their property, until you get done making those payments”

PREACH. Overextending yourself has consequences. Like people taking back their things when you stop paying for them. Live within your means and this shouldn’t ever happen.*

*acknowledging that there are many circumstances where sht happens... but

While you came across as harsh (but this is kinja so that’s very subjective), I’m 100% with you.  All of my jalop time is in quick bursts at work to give me a brain break.  I quite literally do not check jalop at home or anywhere else.  Not after work, not on the can, not on the weekends, not during commercials.  So

I love this. Internet commenters love to set down goalposts only exactly where it is convenient for their current preference. Automotive technology has been improving in countless ways since their inception, which also makes it easier to own and operate vehicles. Why do we draw the line a manuals, and now apparently..

Those wheels.  Woof.  Shame too because the rest of the car is as beautiful as ever, especially with the updated head and tail lights.

Ah, so the average buyer of a modern car of 20 years ago DID have to worry about performance, but the average buyer of a modern car today does not?

Sorry, just trying to figure out where you want to finally set down your goalposts.  What year did cars become “modern” enough to not need to consider capability when

Hi, anecdote here from ~ 15 years ago.

Four lane road with center left turn lane, approx 45mph speed limit. I’m in eastbound right lane. Cloudy evening, at the point where people should have lights on but most don’t. Traffic is nearly bumper to bumper and there’s little way to see the westbound lanes from where I am.
