Holy heck. I actually bothered to dig out my ear buds and plug them into check this out at work. Start video, large youtube bro talking annoyingly loud. Click 2 mins ahead. Still yammering. Click farther in. Doing what appears to be a meme impression. Click click click. Yelling still. But surely, they have to at least

Indeed.  You’re definitely paying the price with the Mazda in regards to storage, but gaining better looks and what sounds like significantly better performance.  They’re both vehicles that can seat 7, but they are quite different and not as good of a comparison as those you mentioned.

You’re not admitting a mistake, as said in an above thread, “I’m sorry” is used to empathize. It shows that you acknowledge that they’ve had their schedules disrupted several times and that you hope it won’t happen again.

Saying basically “thanks for dealing with it” without expressing that empathy is making it sound

I dunno man, you’d be very surprised how very few people here know how to wrench much less want to much less want to put aftermarket parts on. At least from interactions I’ve had and seen. Nothing wrong with that at all, but modders are definitely a small subset of the enthusiast community at large.

One is posing as a BBK, one is not.

In what way does ANY of this impact our lives?  Why are we even on Jalopnik?  Because feel things about cars that are not our own and share those feelings.

Agreed on the Miata. Even if you want to skip FI, 6k is a LOT of aftermarket parts that will make it faster in every other way but a straight line, while looking much better to boot. Wheels, tires, suspension, brakes could all probably be done for that if you do the wrenching yourself. I’d rather have that then

Yeah, I’m not sure why people still have this assumption that everyone has a facebook account.  I dumped mine 4 years ago, and if anything I think the trend now days is to get off social media, not on it.

Interesting.  I’m guessing that aftermarket hoods/trunks/wings that have exposed weave are probably not coated in 60k/gallon paint.  I wonder if they’re just left bare to save expense or if the UV protective coating has come down in price?

Thank you smart person!  Very informative.

It doesn’t in the least. It’s just paint. But are we not allowed to feel ways about things anymore and express those feelings? If everyone followed what you just said (basically, don’t care about things you don’t own), then what in the world would anyone talk about here?

I’ve read that carbon fiber doesn’t like to be naked and exposed to sunlight for long periods of time. Is there truth to this, or do they have a UV blocking coating on the bed to prevent the epoxy from breaking down or whatever?  I’m too lazy to google, someone smart come help.

Indeed, stop it automakers!  Same with fake vents, fake exhaust tips, fake exhaust sound, fake port holes, fake intakes, fake everything.

What’s wrong with caring about your car’s appearance? I don’t understand this take. I can understand you not caring, which is absolutely fine. But other people find it cheap looking and tacky.

Countercounterpoint: silver paint exists. Red is akin to going Pep boys on your car. Like vinyl carbon fiber or sticker vents. But, you do you, that’s just my opinion and in the circles I ran with, was overwhelmingly the popular one.

Sorry, I actually tried to link it but must have copied/pasted on the wrong tab.  It was a PDF about the difference... basically fixed has pistons inside a solid caliper pressing both sides, floating has pistons on one side and the caliper is two parts that move inward to squish the rotor.  Kinja wouldn’t wouldn’t

Thanks for your permission!

It appears that you missed my word, “floating”. Those fine examples you give are much like the 6/4pot set I have on my own fun vehicle, and those are called “fixed” calipers. As in, what big brake kits from the folks at Brembo, Stoptech, Wilwood, etc make. Those are powdercoated and beautiful and worth showing off!

Cool.  Then he’s set!

Late years 350Z/early years 370Z, although I doubt they can accommodate a bike rack. They have the auto/power/sporty/RWD boxes checked though.
