A real sleeper.
A real sleeper.
I understand that, in journalism, an unidentified source is often considered less authoritative than one with a real name/title. But there’s a method to my madness.
By granting engineers anonymity, I’m able to give a voice to true experts currently working in the field, and not just ones who have undergone media…
Speaking of holy shit...holy shit are you ever triggered by such a small deal. Glad your boss wouldn’t give a flying fuck if you went on the record, but the reality is quite a few of us have these sorts of provisions that discourage that, work in an at-will environment, and have little protection from the subsequent…
If an employee works under a policy of not speaking directly to the press without corporate approval, but then speaks directly to the press - you don’t think that would lead to blowback?
Because that’s exactly how you get blowback. Doesn’t matter if what they say is basic engineering theory or trade secrets/ classified…
We’re still wage workers my dude. I don’t want a future employer googling my name, seeing I have a reputation of talking to the media, and not hiring me. Or conversely being passed over for a promotion because I’ve spoken to the media about something relevant to my job without consent from my employer and seen as a…
I bet there are, but the reality is that lots of engineers have lots to say, but aren’t media trained.
They’re not supposed to act as mouthpieces for their companies, but they’re still experts. So I’m happy to use them as sources. Ultimately, I just want to pass on insight from their brains to yours.
The transmission is bespoke to the diesel engine in the Gladiator lineup, and comes with “more than 40” programmed shift maps that are supposed to be “variably optimized for specific capability.”
I think you misunderstood the comment.
Instead of dimming a second or two before an oncoming car comes around the bend, they dim a good half second or so afterward, giving the other driver a nice eyeful of highbeam before the car wakes up and dims them.
Not everything needs 300hp. My car has less than 300 hp and can more than scoot when I get on it. My wife’s car has ~150hp and rarely do I think it needs any more than that.
A 20% increase in horsepower is quite large. With a possible increase in fuel economy too, that’s real good. Not everyone needs Grand National-like acceleration.
That’s plenty of power for the intended use of this vehicle and its target market.
The only one in the whorl.
Pulling through is fine, I do it from time to time, but for whatever reason, the one that gets me, is people [usually of a certain demo] who *always* have to park ass-in first. I just find that very annoying, especially in a busy lot, where you have a bunch of other cars waiting. It just feels like total posing. It’s…
Yup, that’s what I do. Even if it’s not required, I put my left signal on when I’m going around the circle. And then turn on the right signal to exit. But from my personal experience of years going through roundabouts, less than 10% of people use their turn signals there at all.
