Must have changed a bit since I lived out there (moved in 09). Never had issues on BLM land out in the desert.

Sounds like you need to get a little further out of LA county? We camp in the desert for free all the time...

I STILL drive a white 87 Turbo Sprint. It's the most fun car I have ever owned.
