Chinese parts come in “tiers”. They do have cheap made stuff, as well they do have quality stuff. It all depends on how much you wanna spend on production. In fields other than car parts, I’ve seen quality stuff to rival your local maker, and due their large production scale they are far more cheaper.

Including OEM... Half the parts in any car, domestic or imported, are made in China or elsewhere. That cheap Chinese part could very well be an OEM part that an employee squirrelled out of the factory to sell.

The issue is, so many car parts are made in China! Even the ones you buy from your local parts store. I know it’s tempting to say “Chinese = bad,” but it’d be nice to have MORE DATA.
