Google and Tesla are extraordinarily at marketing - I am in the industry and they are no further ahead than the majority of the OEM’s.

I can’t see the value of TrueCar for dealers - they likely pay some percentage of what a vehicle sells for to TrueCar - I would imagine it would be fairly easy to sell a car for slightly less than the TrueCar price and yet have more margin.
