Well, not for me because my wife takes it on a monthly trip up north and puts about 75 miles on the engine. Even if we didn’t the car has a engine cycle mode that will run the engines for a few minutes every few months if you don’t use the engine at all. So either way the engine does get used.

I have a 5 year old Volt with 82,000 miles. Keep in mind this also has an engine which barely ever runs. The result is that I’ve changed the oil twice. Other then that its been a new set of tires. The coolants used are all 150k rated coolants.

The fit and the Bolt are not on the same planets. These are two totally different cars. The people who will buy them ( and are ) are EV enthusiasts, early adopters and so on. I had heard that in many EU countries the cost of these were rather high either due to gas guzzler taxation or import duties. Then again I don’t live there, but it just seems like a poor fit for many of the meandering roads all across the UK and other euro countries.
