That's not what I was getting at. When was the last time you heard of a Japanese manufacture putting an American engine in one of their vehicles?

Yes, I'm aware of that but its almost unheard of for a Japanese truck manufacture to stick an American engine in their trucks.

Does anyone else think its sort of funny that Nissan decided to stick a Cummins in this truck? That would be like Ford sticking a Toyota engine in their F-150's.

Funny how despite costing 400k the interior control panels and various guages looks like something you'd see in a 20k econocar these days. The center console is absolutely cluttered with buttons and looks Kludgy.

seems priced a bit high. That said this gen if Toyota truck is indestructible minus the timing chain tensioner which I would replace first thing on this.

well, because if it's an unproven brand the only way Americans will take a chance is if the thing were dirt cheap. If it were 15-20k then people might make the plunge. Even at 20k I'd probably be hesitant.

are the 2 12 volt batteries or 2 24 volt batteries? The hummer I saw had a whole ton of electronic accessories for the radios, communication equipment, winches and whatnot so I could see where you'd need a lot if power in tap.

Here's a question: Is the "civilian" Hummer redundant like the military version? I don't know much about these but I saw an Army one at a car show. The thing had like 4 sets of serpentine belts for the same set of pulleys, 2 alternators, 2 batteries and so on. I asked the guys showing it ( Army guys) what the reason

That era of Jaguars were crap even when new. The GTO, Audi, and ah hell... the rest besides the Crown Vic and Honda were also crap. They might be cheap but cheap for a good reason.

Let's put it this way. A friend of mine works in the wine industry. At this point pollution floating over from China to coastal California is starting to affect some of their vines. Its not just a problem for China but for pretty much everyone else. I'm glad to see a video like this but wonder: don't citizens in China

Like I said- I would be wary of any brand, regardless of national origin and so I would want others to try them out first. I own a 20 year old Toyota Tacoma ( the same as a Hilux elsewhere) and there is a reason they cost more: they are excellent. As in I've beat the crap out of this truck and it just goes and goes.

well... given that last week I ordered a set of 12 Chinese made outdoor LED lights for my yard lights for about $10 when buying the individual LEDs themselves costs about a dollar ( there are 8 in each bulb) comes to show how cheap it is to make things there. Its not out of the question a small diesel pickup truck

Doesn't sound that different from what I would probably say in such a situation. But the Aussies probably wouldn't understand my Southern drawl.

That makes sense. The thing is that for people in my age bracket believe it or not the equivalent of XP back then was Windows 95 and 98. Vista came out and we were blown away. It looked so much better! Ever seen Windows 95? God it looked awful. I work in the tech bizz and XP was the workhorse... forever. Programmers

The car manufacturing bizz is a mixed internationally sourced industry at this point. My Chevy Volt has parts from at least a dozen countries. One day soon after getting it I looked under the hood and saw parts from Korea, Japan, the US, Mexico, Italy, Germany and a few others mixed in as well. The entire British car

I think what it was is that at least for my generation ( I'm in my mid-30's) when XP was replaced with Vista they lost a whole generation of users. When it first came out Vista was awful. The mistake was that they moved all of the controls we were familiar with to totally random places. In the workplace that is a

I'm not really a gadget guy. But I do own a Surface Pro. As mentioned I got it for free so perhaps its unfair to make a comparison. Truth be known I don't like tablets. I like sitting down with a laptop so I can type quickly. I think the issue I had with the Surface is that it sort of wants to be a laptop but the

Ahhhh. here we are on day two. Will the marathon continue? Anyway, yup- the car does in fact turn. I assume at this point you've never actually driven one.

I was a fan of Windows XP. After that their user interface sucked ass. The biggest mistake they ever made was coming out with Vista. I bought a brand-new Lenovo, fully loaded that came with Vista and basically hardly used it because the OS was such a pain to use. I have actually spent more of my career on Windows

Then at that point all of those fine folks who decided to jump all over my ass were doing exactly the same damned thing: they decided to simply name their own scenario or track type just so they could make themselves "right". Stupid forums.
