I'm sure he's always dreamed of living like a Kennedy.

I'm a man and I think that the vast majority of people are so self-involved that they never consider how their actions impact the nebulous mass of strangers around them.

I kind of wish that feminist sites like this one wouldn't embrace this nonsense.

How often do you see women sitting like this? What would you think if you saw a woman sitting like this?

See... umm... what? You can't see anything.

Yeah by your definition of troll...you're a troll

My pet peeve is that people pretend viability is a legally defined term, when in fact SCOTUS has repeatedly said it's a medical term that is defined on a case-by-case basis between a woman and her doctor.

It is judge-y and closed-minded. A lot of people lose sight of the fact that there are many people who don't like abortion, consider themselves anti-abortion, and work to reduce abortions by increasing access to contraception, improving quality of life, and so on.

Thanks.
You know, you might be surprised how many Catholic priests do not read the bible literally. The rib thing, for example. Heck, the priests taught me not to buy that stuff. They point out, for example, that the two creation stories in the Bible contradict each other - there's just no way a lot of the bible is

Anti-abortionists believe that abortion is murder. Many are not campaigning for limiting women's rights, but for preventing murder. That is not misogynistic.

It's not semantics. It's a fundamental difference in approach. Understanding that would go a long way toward bridging the gap in communication.

This is not very nuanced response. I'm pro-choice, but your comment is petulant and disrespectful.

Ah yes, throw out the 'misogynist' name calling, followed by the 'troll' name calling. Quality work. I made a polite, sensible point.

Look, I hate to break this to you, but anyone who really knows anything about the Catholic Church — as opposed to journalists and bloggers who just cover it when it's a good story — always knew that Francis wasn't as liberal as lots of people thought he was.

I am shock, shocked I tell you, that you would imply that anyone on a completely anonymous message board would be anything but upfront and geniune in their efforts!

You're mistaken, their idea of fun isn't hating women, it's trolling anyone and everyone (even MRAs, sometimes) they can get a reaction out of. Anyone who wastes the emotion of getting upset over this or anything else they do gives them exactly what they want. There is a reason /b/ used to be (maybe still is)

Because the actual news piece here isn't the baptism (which he presented in a dick way) but that the pope baptized children of a divorced couple, a single mom, etc.

so when ignorance is common, we should let everyone get away with it?

Someone who is divorced can have communion if they go to confession first. Someone who is divorced and remarried (without the anullment) can't have communion.

Current sacramental theology teaches that baptism in the Catholic Church is far more about welcoming a child into the Body of Christ and far less about that child going to hell. I'm no longer a practicing Catholic and I haven't jumped on the Pope Frank the Great bandwagon, but I think when you write about something
