Does a protagonist constitute a good guy? Look at the entire GTA series, especially San Andreas and IV. There's no good guy. Carl is at least admirable, but Niko's just a downright prick. He slaughters everyone, and there's no one to root for. That's the best part of that game. (The worst being the driving, of course)
