According to her family that’s probably what she wanted. Based off how she wrote about her life she basically treated her whole life as a PSA. Her openness and refusal to feel shame about her problems is one reason I loved her.

If only the same compassion and logic were applied to all addicts and people suffering from mental illness, regardless of fame or socio-economic status.

Even in death the woman continues to be a catalyst for important discussions about women’s mental health, and addiction. Thank you Carrie.

Case in point, it was 1st Battalion Irish Guards who were parading this year.

If you ever get the chance to go, take it. The atmosphere is quite different to what you see on the telly. And while you don’t want it to be overbearingly hot, you don’t want a downpour either.

It’s not “Englands” it’s Britain’s, contrary to what some like to think, the UK hasn’t collapsed in a heap and doesn’t look like it’s going too. Many of those parading will be Scots or Welsh and this is precisely the sort of conflation of Britain with England that will irk them.

I have a feeling that Charlotte will entertain us for years to come. I know she’s only a toddler, but that girl is a wild one!

Happens at Amy lengthy military parade in every country when it’s hot out.

But it didn’t happen “decades” ago. Cosby started doing this shit decades ago but this case is SPECIFICALLY about something that happened in 2004. He can’t be tried for the incidents that happened “decades” ago. You’re not paying attention.

Yes, and honestly—you weren’t in the room, you didn’t hear the evidence, it all happened decades ago and yet you’ve apparently decided that the jury was wrong and Cosby is guilty?

I served on one, where a minister was on trial for molesting one of the girls in his congregation (and we didn’t know it at the time, but he was already in jail for having been convicted for doing the same to her sister). He didn’t call a single witness, even though his whole congregation was there, and glaring at

I don’t doubt this. There was a rape case in the Chicago suburbs 10-15 years ago. The rapists filmed themselves committing the crime. Some or all of the rapists fled the country for several years to avoid a trial. The video was entered into evidence, the jury still came back with a not guilty verdict.

I forget where I heard this, but it doesn’t surprise me that for the most part juries are comprised of people too stupid to get out of jury duty. It’s sad. Juries need more sane, productive people on them(like yourself).

I think he’s faking that. They filmed him leaving the courthouse, then the man walking out next to him on his left said something, he smiled looking directly at him and reached directly for him with his right hand without hesitating or tripping despite all the noise and people around them. Blind my ass.

I’m starting to think evil is a preservative.

No, the worst people, even though they look unhealthy, always end up outliving the nice people. See Trump for proof. Fat, high stress, spends all his time raging, yet he still hasn’t had a heart attack.

I served on 3 juries and the level of crazy inside a jury room is astounding. In one, a law student proceeded to retry the whole case, pointing out all of what she thought were errors made with evidence. Was she right or wrong? No one knew, and no one knew whether to ask the judge if this was allowed. (I sure

Just don’t do that while talking to a man because we all know that means you’re begging for rape.

I’m not a lawyer, but here’s what Google says: “If the court is convinced that the jury cannot come to a unanimous decision, even with gentle urging from the judge and the assurance that they are doing as good a job as any jury would, the judge will declare a mistrial. The defense and prosecution will have to live

Hung jury. There is apparently nothing that can overcome the reasonable doubt created by a man saying “the lying slut wanted it.”
