"There is no cow level! Now MOOOO—err, excuse me—move along."
I still swear I'm going to c(r)os(s)play as Will one of these days. I wore my Gaia T-shirt from Nintendo Power Club (yes, I also still have the one that came with the game!) to a convention a few years ago and wanted to cry from joy at all the love it got.
Oh, shit, I should've been more clear! It's not the average AV Club regular I worry about…it's all those morons who get here by Googling their favorite show just so they can dogpile anyone who offers constructive criticism or a differing opinion.
Oh my god, Potterheads….I love HP, but I stay far away from most of the fans. You have all my sympathies there.
I guess he couldn't kick them nasty thoughts.
Hmm…ALL the fandoms? *Inserts sad Allie Brosh face*
Yeah, fuck those masses, with all their gross huddling!
Upvoted for coelacanth love(in').
Looking back at the story I just told, and how just saying I'd stopped watching The Walking Dead invited flames on a forum, I'm left wondering if I'm going to get it from some angry fans!
Hence "I try not to let fandoms ruin things for me." Key word being "try!" Sometimes you get a little traumatized by fandom and have to step back for your own sanity.
Thank you! I'm the sort of person who comes up with quick comebacks a day later, so I will always treasure that moment. Just not the moments that led up to it.
For years now, I've wanted to go to a geek convention in that costume. I'd even include the fat pony somehow. I AM a bit wary of the reactions I'm going to get from other congoers, though. Maybe I'll wait a while before debuting it at a furry con.
Also, let's get Cat back onto the Knowing Who Supergirl Really Is train, please.
You get rejected, it sucks, you move on, and you don't blame the person who turned you down.

Put it next to the lube and tissues you keep by the bed! I use those so much I always notice—I mean, I've *heard* that putting things you want to remember with things you never forget helps you with the remembering.
Losing your place in Discworld is a delight, because you pick up new references and things on each re-read! :D Or you can also do what I do and keep a list of what you've already read.
That "writer" should quit flirting and just marry those commas they love so goddamn much.
It's a very unpopular opinion, but something about her interview style really rubs me the wrong way. I always feel like she came into each interview only having done maybe half her research, and some of the resulting questions make me cringe with second-hand embarrassment.
