The scablands were a part of Julian May's "The Saga of Pliocene Exile" series, with the first book released in 1981. I (not that it means anything) highly recommend this series to anyone who likes well written and thoughtful science fiction. The series begins much like last year's Fox television show, Terra Nova.

I feel your pain! I'm on the other side of Kansas City and would jump at the chance of having that fiber in my house. I have a feeling it's going to be a very long time until it makes it to my neighborhood, if it even makes it at all. Still, I'm happy with my Comcast speeds at the moment. Most of the time when I

It's not just a suggestion!

I just got a free 50GB when I logged on with my new Galaxy Tab 7 2. It's only for a year, so the 2 year deal sounds pretty good. Now I would like to know which carriers will get the Note II.

Amen on the feet! Throw in the feet of a zombie, and it's even worse. I don't get why some people have a fetish for feet. Unless it's a newborn baby with cute little virgin feet, feet are disgusting and gross. Period!

I have the 10.1 inch version of this. I have to say, I enjoy having a Windows 7 tablet experience and can't wait to upgrade to Win8. Still, there are a few flaws with my particular model. The screen on my computer is terrible with a very narrow angle of view. Hopefully, they've corrected this eh, glaring flow with

I held off on upgrading my Sprint version of the SII to the SIII because I want to see if the Note II will be coming to Sprint at some point. I'm stoked about the possible specs this fone might have, and I'm not worried about the size being too big. Heck, if I can palm a basketball, I should be able to palm a Note

I have that, as well as Skydrive, Box, and a few others. How do you like Drive? I'm a huge Google fan, but I haven't really used Drive yet because off all the space I have on Dropbox and Box.

Personally, I use Dropbox. With the new 2 step security, I like it even more. I simply keep a (organized) running list of all my passwords, account numbers, credit card numbers, and anything else I might need. It's in s simple txt format, making it easy to open, edit, save, and whatever. After trying several

I once had a patient with a new pacemaker / defibrillator . Unfortunately for him, the settings they used for his heart rate were set incorrectly. As Dr. Janeira points out, a heart rate for that age range would be 60-80. This patient's defibrillator was meant to shock his heart when his heart rate dropped too low.

It's a good thing that bagel is neutral for the entire consumption process. I'm just sayin...

I say, frak the zebra finch as a species. They look like they have little orange traffic cones affixed to the front of their skulls. Then, they just sit there and quietly judge you. You know that's what they're doing with their beady little eyes. I say, frak them, and frak them again.

There are still parts of this I don't understand. Are we to submit our work, then they choose which one they like the best, then post that for someone else to continue? That's the only thing which makes to me at this point. Just curious. Thanks! I'm sure you'll do well.

Dude, I normally love your posts, but this one disappoints me. Sorry, it's true. A good writer can write himself into and out of anything. The above pictures don't even have to represent reality. How about pictures created by a digital artist who works for Shamstore Art Department , with said artist being

I'm writing (attempting) a book and have answers for every single point here except #7 abd #9, mostly because those points are absolutely valid. Still, the first thing I think of when I see learned scientists state that something is impossible is that they are almost surely wrong. I won't get into my answers for the

OK, this is going to date me, but the opening sequence of the Six Million Dollar Man. Still, to this day, I think this has to be one of the best openings of any television show. Ever!

Great points! And frankly, Tosh could almost make the Holocaust funny. Almost. Unfortunately, I know nothing of this writer, and that's why I've chosen to reserve judgement on this work. There's a great chance I won't even read it. I mean no offense by this, but I've found very few female (science fiction)

I'm not saying I would like it, but I'm not so sure I would be offended, either. I'm not easily offended by much of anything. Someone else commented something about how we live in a hypersensitive society and people get offended by just about anything. It seems like everyone wants to go on a crusade these days.

I don't get it. What's the problem? Seriously, I'm not trolling here. I really don't understand what the firestorm is about. It's a story. It's fiction. It's just like a television show. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I don't need someone to tell me why I shouldn't like this story or any other story.
