I don’t think disappointing is fair for this car, especially the first gen, it’s a small GM car that regularly is rated at or near the top of its class. Until the Fiesta St came out, it was probably the best offering in its class. Most reviewers found its steering feel, handling, and speed on par or better with

I thought I would maybe undertake the headlight covers or front end swaps but when you are actually sitting there looking at the car, the headlights look pretty good.

228i?

Comparing Boxster numbers in 2000 to Boxster numbers in 2016 is pretty unfair because it’s biggest competitor is the Cayman. Add in the Caymans 4000ish sales, things don’t look so dismal.

Even when cyclists are entirely in the right it’s super rare for someone to get locked up even when the actions are pretty egregious.

I think finding something unique to So Cal, cool to a 4 year old, and timeless are pretty tricky. The STI is a good choice, except it’s design while probably it’ll have staying power I think it’ll fall short of timeless, I think a focus RS may age better.

No that’s interesting, some Audi-phile explained it to me once that there is Quattro(Audi derived) and quattro(AWD) but at least Wikipedia agreees with you. If there is one place to be pedantic it’s the Internet.

Kinda. Your A3 has haldex which as you point out is FWD biased. I believe early generations, the rear wheels didn’t get any power until slip happened, and then successive generations tried to have intervention happen sooner and also, a little more “default” power to the rear 5-15% off the top of my head.

Your comment got me curious. It looks like prices have been coming down relatively speaking for a couple of decades. Sometime in the 70s prices started skyrocketing. In inflation adjusted dollars prices have actually been coming down or staying consistent since sometime around 2000. I guess the credit probably goes to

Now playing

America became an obese and unhealthy nation, went through its worst economic catastrophe in 80 years, and started this perpetual mid eastern war under boomer and gen x stewardship. Don’t throw stones from glass houses and all that stuff.

Blaming millenials for anything and everything with hardly any context or information.

996 GT3 (I don’t even know if this is a good price, but I think it’s a great choice)

Yayyy! She followed my three step rule to when you accidentally do something culturally dumb. Accept, apologize, learn.

Boxed fender flares or go home!

Wouldn’t be the first time.

Different cars are different, not better or worse.

Your talking about how you would do it, but you are presumably a tuner; not a product planner at Subaru. They’re likely not going to put on $3,000 brakes and larger but the same weight wheels($$$) though unless they really jack up the price. The larger brakes and wheels, without increasing quality will be more

Presumably a 5.0 second 0-60 BRZ in whatever form they get there would be heavier from a turbo or bigger engine/stiffening/brakes/wheels/tires. Obviously it’s not going to be 3300 pounds, but closes in on 3000 pounds I’d guess.

I didn’t know this was a thing, but now that I know it’s a thing I can’t wait for it.
