Freddy, I think another car worth mentioning that seems like a really good value used is the Lotus Evora. There are a handful under $50,000 with low miles from the 2010-2011 time frame. I know the Camry engine is a mark against it but it’s small, light, bespoke, and fast.

I feel like a person would just be better off buying 10 kinda rough first gen boxsters.

It was in mid December when it happened. An early 90s Audi Coupe Quattro(which is the closest thing to an S2 we got here in the states) popped up on craigslist. I’ve seen few of them ever on Craigslist and this one had the best paint, and lowest miles and still had stock wheels. I listed my 944 that day for a fair

Woahhh. I had no idea the difference was that big. Okay, I agree, awful way to spend ones money.

There was just some recent news on road and track I think. The only thing I remember is a 500 hp hybrid drivetrain is being discussed.

There are worse ways to spend $28,000 though, which is where they start.

To small pieces of small clear vinyl on each of the doors could save this guy a lot of hassle.

They are more dangerous, therefore they pose greater risk, therefore they should be judged more harshly, for other peoples’ good.

I think it’s okay to say what cyclists do cause problems and what cyclists don’t. The general problem wi people’s perception is they pay far more attention to cyclists doing things incorrectly, than to ones who do things correctly. Ahhh, I never mean to post on articles like this but then I do and then I feel regret.

Ugggh, i wish I could have edited for clarity. They break different rules but the rules they break, they do so with similar frequency.

Fair enough on the reading part.

NHTSA survey. About 75-80% of drivers reported speeding in the previous month and 30% reported doing so in the previous day on under 45mph roads, two lane and interstate highways.

Hmmmm. That’s one of the reason I pipe up in posts like this. Is that drivers take the action of a small percentage, and then use that to inform how they treat a wide swath of people. I never bike at night without lights or a helmet and yet because of three idiots you have no sympathy for me? That’s weird.

Hmmm. I get the sense that you live near an Ironman location or something of that sort. And, culturally speaking, those types of events(and all the people who visit to prepare) evoke bad biking.

Also, I’d be curious to know where people live in this discussion. Because I think college campuses, and really big cities are where bicyclists are the dumbest. Away from those areas, bicyclists in my experience tend to be much more predictable, responsible and safe.

Again, the rules broken are different, the proportion is the same.

And I don’t believe any of the idiots in this argument who say that bicyclists are endangering others 90% of the time, or that the majority of bicyclists run red lights. It’s just not true. But if you’ve been on an interstate lately you know 80% of people speed.

I’ve said it five times, I’m talking proportion of rule breaking is similar but they break different rules. I think lots of bikers are on sidewalks out of fear of drivers AND that’s not always illegal.

I’m sorry, are you asking for citations for any of the bullshit facts said about cyclists? It’s all what I see, both as a driver and a runner, and a biker.

I wasn’t clear. The proportion of rule breaking is similar. The rules broken are different.
