I saw one of these in non convertible form yesterday. That’s not what I want to talk about.

What the Elio could be doing is paving the way for some sort of enthusiast opportunities. Jack Baruth wrote an article recently about how people who want a classic feeling car end up on a motorcycle because new cars just are too constrained to have that feeling, I know Elio has been laying some groundwork with state…
How much did you like seeing comments that said something along these lines, “my suggestion got 5 stars and the #8 car only got 2 stars, why didn’t you choose my car?” (Wahhhhhh...)
I wanted a 924s, or maybe 944, I would have settled for BMW z3, 300zx na, or possibly even a c4 corvette. But I couldn’t find anything nearby, I was getting impatient.
Lets trace it back, Porsche 924 was 165 in long, 66 inches wide, and 50 inches tall. From the boxtser the dimensions haven't changed, and from its arguable originator the 924, it got slightly bigger in 40 years.
You’re overthinking it. When you buy something like this, you send it to a guy, who does a thorough tuneup for untold money; and when it breaks down you have someone flatbed your e30 m3 to you, and flatbed your EVO to a mechanic.
There is a lot of misdirected energy here. I love it that this all came together fairly well and looks pretty good but it’s a FWD Oldsmobile. I know this guy probably thought fox bodies and c4 corvettes were too played out for this project or he already had the olds but they just would have been better choices times…
I’m glad someone is sticking up for the Z. The damn thing(370) gets to 60 in under 5 seconds, pulls 1.0G on the skidpad, and has a much more modern auto option than the frs/Brz and everyone around here pretends like it doesn’t exist because the chassis is a little dated.
Love this blue, almost don’t see any like that. Lots of tan/Browns/burgundies/red.
Just to be clear, I’ve been comparing later 300zx cars which have a slight bump in hp versus the earlier body style. But yeah, the list runs the gamut of speed. A stock L98 corvette in 89 did 0-60 in 6.6 and a stock 300zx did it in 7.1. But the 924s was 7.5 I believe. 3 cars, very different engines, weights, and…
I live in the PNW. One upside is that we don’t deal with much rust here in cars after about 1985. It’s wet but there’s no salt on the roads. The drawback though is that there are probably less garage queens because there’s less reason to keep them locked up in the winter.
I’ve been looking for a sports car under $5,000 that’s not an absolute mess and the options in order of preference for me, seem to be:
14-21 year old males? Assholes? Especially when in groups? Yes. Not just my old friends either. Most of them.
I think it depends on the situation that we don’t see on camera(how close was he to being hit and how were the driver and skater interacting).
I’m not bothered by what the skateboarder did. Another title for this article could be, “Young man (teenager) almost hit by car, made to feel worse by having horn honked, and then reacts as most people would.”
I was recently camping with my wife in the great PNW and we pulled up to a cafe/resort/trail info area in the middle of no where and there was a parking lot with 4/6 cars being Subaru wagons so I got out and did my best Oprah impression;
Well from an enthusiast perspective, but taking into account things that would actually sell, it would be cool to see a Fit with some hybrid technology, assuming they keep the same current gas engine and just add power through an electric system. Especially if the electric motors were out back. I’d love to just say…
Dear Tavarish,
Ughhhh. This idea pains me. The environmental cost of building them in the first place was big. I don’t know VWs well enough, but couldn’t they 2.0/2.5 swap these on a mass scale or something?
