2 months ago I posted about a job I applied for in my organization, in the post I put a picture of a FoRS:
Tom answered a question about a couple of lease swap sites. I got curious and went to check them out. Low and behold this dealer appears to be all but begging people to take an ATS for 27 months at about 1/2 the cost of what Cadillac shows for leasing on their website:
Road and track did an article on cars that need performance versions. And although I agree with them; I also think some cars could use some stripped out base models. Here is there list:
I spent yesterday watching some DIYs and informational videos on B7 S4s and after watching how people pull the front end apart, remove sub frames, and dismantle their engines; I thought to myself “that’s what everyone makes such a big deal about, pfff.”
“We should get a van so we have could have a TV in it...”
So naturally I’m imagining the big raise and all the fun things I could buy with it.
I think ultimately whether or not(or how much) people like the 992 will come down to dimensions, weight, and so forth. It’s not like some cars where seeing spy shots is going to really push your opinion one way or the other. But, just in case, here are the best spy shots yet of the 992.
So unnecessary internet car shopping is at its peak. 135is cars are way too much coin, 335is caRs are all over the map, but m235i cars are plentiful and seem like decent buys on paper. Heard mixed things about the actual driving experience though.
And this interestingly specced red over blue at a used car dealer is one of them:
My brother has his heart set on a Subaru; he is shopping Imprezas and legacy’s. If I understand the FB recall right; if the vehicle exhibited high oil consumption before the end of the warranty period; then it’s covered by the extended warranty. If the vehicle didn’t show symptoms until after the original warranty,…
Yeah, that’s my post on Rennlist; yes I do think my IMS is failing; no my engine didn’t go boom(yet). I’m trying to figure out if I can get away with just replacing the bearing or if once the bearing wears this badly the engine needs a tear down(cause if so, uggghhhhhhhhhhh).
Turbo for your time
Two manual allroads for sale locally. Incredibly different ads, one has no pictures and reads:
My mother in law had her 60th birthday party on a big honking boat on the fanciest lake in the area. So naturally, I needed to drive the Porsche. I recently pulled my window regulator and had it repaired and then I put it back in and I also replaced a door latch so I can use the soft top and lockup my car. I drove my…
If a person wanted to get 2 U exhaust pipes cut in half (at the mid point of the U) and then welded with the 2 parts of the U at 90 degrees; where would be the best(cheapest) place to have this accomplished? I just want to bring the pipe somewhere describe what I want cut/welded and then go home and handle …
I’ve been tossing around the idea of selling my turbo beetle and buying something with the equity I have in it so that I don’t have a monthly payment. This would free up some much needed funds for my 996(assuming the replacement doesn’t need $200 per month in work). I’m not sure I’d do it, the beetle is pretty…
I’m waiting on a rebuilt window regulator and replacement door lock latch for the Parsh. I’m regulated to tuuurrrbbboo Beetle for a week. So, if anyone needs me I’m on craigslist imagining a life somewhere between the beetle and the parsh. A little more fun and engaging than the beetle, but a little less needy than…
I took my car to get gas tonight; having accepted that the fuel gauge seemed to be stuck on the top of the gauge and so I was going to fill up and rely on math to not run out of gas. Well my car had a Fourth of July surprise for me, in the manner of a working gas gauge.
We all know about the 86 Twins infamous torque dip. People flatten it out with aftermarket headers and tunes.
Pulled into my daughters school this morning with a cloud of coolant steam along with me. I recently drained it all so I could re-run a tube. It seemed well bled and I topped it off the other day. I either put the cap on wrong or maybe an air bubble caused it to burp out coolant. Whatever it was I just kept driving…
