I rather get a base model. Most of the time you’re a serious offroader then you are going to replace all the stuff with aftermarket parts anyways and cheaper If you know how to wrench yourself.

I tow a 6klb boat with my 185hp Land Rover and I have NEVER felt like the thing needed any more power - it will already go faster than I have any desire to tow that much weight. I understand your consternation, but honestly, I’d probably go for the base engine anyway: 270hp is good enough for me, and the 4-cylinder will probably have more space / be easier to wrench on. But, I’m not planning to tow anything, so again I can see why someone else might be bothered by this.
