I love this shit, excellent write-up. It’s why I love the Koenigseggs so much - they may not be the prettiest, but damn if the engineering details aren’t fun to explore.
Huh.
I’m sure there are some valid uses for accessing said information, and valid reasons not to inform the person whose information is being sold, but.....they should REALLY inform the person whose information is being sold (and info of the buyer).
I hope he trashes Bill Cosby for a solid 45 minutes.
I think you’re overestimating how reluctant people would be to register with their driver’s license - especially if users were already heavily invested in the platform. That said, the most reluctant would be trolls...which is the point. I think you’re also overestimating how determined people are to maintain their…
Kinja (and other social media platforms) are private companies and not government run organizations. They have their own terms of service, and are in no way obligated to allow users of their free platform to say whatever they want. They can and do ban accounts based on what they post.
I’m not talking about “the internet”, but platforms where abuse is allowed to go mostly unchecked. It’s actually not that difficult to put in stopgaps that prevent such behavior (I’ve outlined a few in response to another commenter), but again - these companies make money off of the chaos, and thus aren’t overly…
A company keeping someone from posting in their website’s comment section isn’t denying their freedom of speech. Getting *arrested* for posting on an online community, or the government forcing a company to prohibit certain comments, is.
Kinja is better only because it’s not as popular. You’re absolutely right, things are FAR better here than on other parts of the internet, but they also let a lot of shit slide in favor of keeping engagement and user retention numbers high (which, in Gizmodo’s sorta-defense, they need in order to keep the lights on).
Let me live, mayn.
Doesn’t get to me either - but they shouldn’t have any voice here to begin with. And it’d be easy to silence them.
This is all moot, as I’d get the exterior model name delete option and fab up my own label: Taycan Sport+
“...but as soon as the criticism turns from policy or even simple difference of opinion and becomes a dehumanizing attack based on sex or race, the troll automatically loses the argument.”
Oooooh, this is maybe the third time I’ve gotten to do this:
I don’t see this stopping anytime soon- because there are zero consequences for abusing WoC (especially black women). Online platforms in particular have no incentive to moderate such behavior, because it’s all just distilled to users and metrics that can be sold. You don’t have to look any further than this fuckawful…
That...
I REALLY feel like you’re cyber stalking me, and it’s kinda creepy.

What the hell was this person thinking when they drove onto the beach?
