Actually reading up on it guys are just using the 6 volt starter and throwing on a GM 1 wire alternator and changing the coil and other misc goodies like fuel tank sending units BULBS and so forth

There has to be a bracket kit for a small case GM alternator somewhere right? seems like If you could find a 12v starter you could just rig up a quick 12v system with just the necessities.

right, teams were putting only 3 or 4 nuts on because everyone else was so you had no choice to remain competitive on pit stops. I’m pretty sure it freaked the teams and drivers out and they went to nascar to get a tight nuts rule but I’m not certain.

It’s my understanding that the teams asked for something to be done about the lugnut issue for safety reasons which is what led to the new nut rules. Can you confirm Stef?
