Yep. 6 years in the Army for me. I can pretty much guarantee the guy leaving that note was not a veteran. yeah I remember thinking it was so great back in the 80's but I tried to rewatch recently and felt the same way. I was pretty young when it came out so maybe the fact my parents let me stay up late to watch it made it much better than it really is.
